Uh, if she's lookin' to move to Vegas, she better bring all the money she can scrape up. The houses are dropping; but the land is up. Plus, we've got more empty houses here than the typical. Ugh, everyone is moving out because there's NO jobs!! 50k won't get her far!

I was laughing SO hard when Alby told Verlin to strip and stay in his corner. I thought it was awesome! Such an Alby thing to do, and totally out of nowhere. I thought it was a great little twist.

Did you notice the open window (blinds) to the left of Verlin? Anyone would have had plain view of the strip show, from the outside!

I love how big Alby's hair is getting this season. It seems the bigger his ego the bigger his bump. And putting Verlin in the corner like a child who did something bad was too funny. I was expecting a dunce cap to be sitting on the desk. Maybe Verlin and Alby had a little something-something going on when they were younger. I don't know what the age difference is between them.

As the duo begin their tug-o-war this week, I have to ask, what is it exactly that Alby hopes to accomplish?
Could it be that ultimately Bill hopes to have control over the UEB? I understand that he's mad over Bill taking Laura to the shelter, I understand that he wants to make Bill's life a living nightmare; but why?
If he's as solid as he thinks he is; then why bother himself w/Bill. He's already ruling JC. I don't see Bill's actions destroying his empire. Even to the point of A's gayness, just because of Bill's awareness, seems pretty petty to me & it seems that Alby is holding a huge grudge. (Bill & Alby have been duking it out since the very beginning, it does make the show interesting w/Alby being the villain)
I think the sparks are going to start flying this week. Re: the telephone conversation where they exchange words. Alby's last remark was challenging (to say the least). We may need a referee!

I still think he blames Bill for the death of Dale. Like his father, I think he fears Bill will take over the compound, which is only solidified by Bill taking women from the compound. I think Alby knows that he isn't the prophet. Remember when Roman was recovering from being shot and Alby and Adalene cooked up that plan between them to get Alby in power? They lied and said that he was called to be prophet.
At this point, I'm rooting for Alby. That is how much they have killed the character of Bill for me. I honestly want Alby to win and to kill Bill.

“its not your fault…your talents lie elsewhere…you let Bill get the better of us.”
I remember when Roman said that, but I think he was really wrong because Alby has proved to be fairly smart to get control JC. He didn't even have to kill his father by his own hands to do so. Everything fell on his lap, but he does have the UEB board eating of his hands. He is a sly devil and the epitome of a "evil" antagonist on this show. He is ashamed of being gay and I don't think he's happy that Bill knows this and played a part in Dale committing suicide. Dale couldn't face it anymore and Alby really did fall in love with him. P.S. - the scenes of Alby and Verlan stripping make me want to throw up. I fast forward. Yuckers!

Don't they say in season one that Alby went to law school? I thought I remembered that.

I think that in the past, Alby has wanted to take Bill down in order to prove to his father that he can do it, especially since it was something that Roman wanted to do (in other words, Alby just wanted to make his dad proud). Now, I think he wants to hurt Bill because he blames Bill for Dale's death and Lura's leaving. What I don't understand though, and maybe he'll do this in one of the upcoming episodes, is why doesn't he kill Barb? Sure, Bill relies on Don at Home Plus, but Barb is to Bill what Dale was to Alby, making her a more logical target.

Don't they say in season one that Alby went to law school? I thought I remembered that. Southernsong, I've been surfing all over the net to find out more about Alby's bio. I can't find anything where it mentions~ law school. But for some reason, I think you're right as it seems like when this was brought up, we began talking on the HBO boards about Alby's law background being similiar to that of the Kingston Clan guy, who is an attorney. Whew, it's been a long 5 yrs, Here's a link to Alby's (HBO) bio: www.hbo.com/big-love/cast-and-crew#/big-love/cast-and-crew/alby-grant/index.html

I guess they are just going to drop it. That's a shame, too, as it would have been good information for Nicki to use on how women do not get an education on the compound, but the men get enough that they can go off to college (Alby to law school and I'm assuming Joey went to college since he played in the NFL). Any chance of a hostile take over by this board? I'm sure we could do much better writing for this show.

The way it was said seemed to imply that he may not have finished and passed the bar, though, IIRC. I remember it as Roman referring to it as something else that Alby had failed at.
