This is the description HBO released of Big Love's Final Episode:
With the specter of jail time looming, Bill charts out contingency plans for the family, while orchestrating a last-minute preemptive referendum on the senate floor. Meanwhile, Barb goes forward with her plan to join a reform-minded church; Margene contemplates taking a hiatus to serve as a volunteer abroad; and Nicki despairs being left alone as her family splinters.
Cara Lynn considers a return to her roots; Ben enlists Rhonda to help him win over Heather; Don shares some bad news with Bill about Home Plus. As Easter arrives, the Henricksons receive heartening support from their polygamist constituents, briefly lifting the dark cloud that’s been hovering over the family since Bill’s election. Finally, an unexpected vision leads Bill to a final confrontation with his most deeply-held beliefs.

I hope Nikki really is left alone. I am so tired of her manipulating ways.

It sounds exciting!
It sounds as though Barb, Margene, & Nicki are going off in separate directions. I didn't see Margene thinking about going abroad & leaving her Sister Wives & Bill.
I wonder what Bill's unexpected vision is? Bill has maintained an "I am the Mormon Church" type attitude. Could Bill's unexpected vision be that Polygamy is wrong. I think we all could make valid arguments of how Polygamy has harmed the lives of Barb, Nicki, and Margene - not to mention Sarah and Teenie.
Or could Bill's unexpected vision be that he is supposed to be The Prophet at Juniper Creek with Barb at his side as Co-Prophet. Bill has been against Barb having Priesthood Status - it would be unexpected for Bill to have a realization that women are co-equal to men.
I guess Home Plus is going to go out of business - the bad news Don shares with Bill - or that Home Plus is unable to fund Safety Net.
JT (Barb) said that Big Love is an excellent title for this series because it's Love that keeps The Henricksons together - JT says this in an interview about Big Love The Final Season. This comment did make me believe that Bill, Barb, Nicki & Margene would all stay together. One of the writers said that The Final Season is their Valentine to the audience - whatever that means.
I just have no idea how Big Love is going to end. I do know that I want to see a happy ending - one where we know Bill, Barb, Nicki, & Margene are going to have happy lives.
God may have told Bill to run for Senate but Bill could realize in his unexpected vision that God didn't tell him to Win - God didn't tell Bill to bring his family into the light. I think Bill could have done a lot of wonderful things for Juniper Creek & other Polygamy Compounds - however, to do these things Bill could not be into the light. I think Bill could have helped a lot of females who wanted to get away find another life outside of compound life - Bill could have helped lost boys. I do think Bill has had good intentions but his methods of trying to help make things worst - Frank did say to Bill "why do you have to go & complicate everything" & this is exactly what Bill has done.
Or perhaps Bill wanted success so badly that Roman was able to use this against Bill to keep Bill down - Bill was always a great threat to Roman. Roman gave Bill money for Home Plus but to get the money Bill had to take Nicki. Maybe Bill was so blinded by his goals of success & greed that he allowed himself to believe that he was supposed to live The Principle. Bill could have made himself believe this so he would feel okay with taking money for Home Plus from Roman.
I'm sad that this is The Final Season. I did read that Big Love is very accurate with their writing - & it was hinted that the Mormon Church had something to do with this being Big Love's Final Season. I have no idea if this is true - but it was noted that the Mormon Church is very powerful & their is an Oligarchy in place in Utah.
Regardless, I have enjoyed The Henricksons! I don't know if the writers intentions were to try to show polygamy in a positive or negative light. I could find argue how polygamy ruined The Henricksons & I could also find many positive aspects too. I don't know if the writers wanted to show that there are people living The Principle who don't live on compounds & wear prairie dresses - when I've seen compounds on TV the people are extremely foreign to me & could almost be from another planet. I really don't know or understand anything about their way of life.
I really am looking forward to these last new episodes of Big Love. Then I want to get the Box Set of all the seasons. I'm hoping on the Box Set all of the short scenes showing Margene first being introduced, Nicki having her babies, Barb, Nicki and Margene at the house they lived in before moving into three separate houses. I really hope that there is a Big Love Movie! I would really like to see Bill & Barb when Barb first found out she was sick, Nicki first coming to take care of Barb -- all the things that had to have happened years prior to where Big Love the series begins.

I love the show in general but just hate how it is playing out this season. However I can appreciate that the show is keeping all the fans frustrated. I'd rather be frustrated with the show than bored with it. It had a slow start but it is definitely up and rolling now. I think a Big Love Movie would be awesome too!!

Kambria, I was really upset about the Divorce Story Line! When the show started it was fun in my opinion - & now it has swung over to the opposite side of fun like a pendulum. Now the show is heavy. Hopefully, the show will end up in the middle of where it started & where it is now.
I'm unhappy about the divorce in the same way I would be if this was happening to my friend - I just don't think it's a good idea & I'm really mad at Bill for even suggesting it - much less going ahead with it because the spoilers indicate that Nicki takes full advantage of her wedding day.
I'm happy with this season because I've enjoyed watching Barb, Nicki and Margene dealing with their feelings & the choices that they made to get to this point. I think they are all telling each other how they really feel about themselves & each other.
I'm unhappy with this season because I think it's too short - I never became invested in the character of CL so her scenes with Don's son for example are like commercials (kind of annoying) to me. I hate seeing Barb kind of just give up - I can understand that Barb would be exhausted - I would be exhausted if I had to deal with Nicki on a daily basis - but I hate seeing Barb still giving up so much for so little in return.
I don't know if Nicki taking full advantage of her wedding day is supposed to be humorous to the audience but my initial reaction to this - is it will make me really dislike Nicki.
What don't you like about this season?

I love all of the aspects of BL, the storylines are great as they offer all aspects of emotions for the viewer, happy, sad, glad, mad, cheer, oh my-suspense, uh-oh~ he/she didn't just do that etc. Plus, we never know what's going to happen next? Something not mentioned yet, I think we need JJ back in the picture to create a cure for Lois's dementia, , NOT; just kiddin'. ;D

A burn-scarred mad-scientist JJ working out of a secret, underground lab, I love it!!! Look out, Nicki!
I have loved Big Love, even though there have been times when I've wondered what on earth are these women thinking? No way I could do it, I'm way too selfish! I think the reason the idea of polygamy rubs so many people the wrong way is that most of us are selfish to some extent, and one of the things married people feel secure about is the fact that their spouse is only theirs, it's one of the few things in life we're not supposed to have to share with others!
For a woman to not even have her marriage all to herself seems awfully unfair, but then you look at the Henricksons and you realize the sacrifices they've all made have blessed them in ways most people will never experience. Not that it hasn't been hard, but very few things that are truly worth having are ever gained easily!

The one aspect about watching film is that it is generally a mirror reflection of who we are as living organisms and especially a representation of our cultural and philosophical values.
When I read about how Margie will go abroad, and Barb off to essentially work towards her own self-knowledge and realization it is a perfect example of today's American culture where dignity, honor integrity and fierce loyalty to committments, then flee at the 1st sign of trouble fits a nation of people who produce people lacking the former virtues within the leadership types governing our society.
The massive criminal fraud on Wall Street, giving that fraud bailout money we must pay to the tune of 800 billion in TARP, having a nation once who investigated War Crimes and punished those who did to now commit them ourselves, lying and cheating are now social norms.
The list is endless over the last 30 years I have observed and to the extent that is true we would therefore expect to see that which we have become as a result of same. Sad sad indeed.

Betheaz - Too funny! Or - Bill's big revelation is that he should be wearing boxers not briefs.
With Barb going ahead & joining the reformed Church after Bill says something such as "I don't trust you" in regards to Barb's spiritual journey - I'm starting to think Bill's revelation will have to be about Barb.
At the beginning of The Noose Tightens Bill & Barb were in their lawyers office - The lawyer's words "it's not just about you Bill .... it's about Barb." I found these words to be more profound than just the lawyer conveying legal advice - these words transcend into Bill & Barb's life together.
When Barb was running to her car & Bill was chasing after her asking her to slow down - they stop in front of Barb's station wagon - Bill is looking over his shoulder as a SUV approaches them - he tells Barb to just hold on - this is after Barb says "you (Bill) better hind the Drano because I just might drink it."
Bill is chasing after Barb, asking her to slow down (perhaps with her spiritual journey so Bill can catch up), & asks Barb to hold on.
I used to think Barb would be the wife who wouldn't be with Bill at the end - but now I think I see & feel & hear the BIG LOVE between Barb & Bill. Their lives together have faced so many obstacles but they continue to make the choice to stay together. Barb used to be my least favorite wife - but now she is the one who I see as having a spirit that is hard pressed but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
I see how for Bill, Barb is easy to love - I can see that Bill has to know that Barb is his strengths.
Now I think Bill's Revelation will be about Barb & Bill will see that her spiritual journey is ordained by Heavenly Father.
I know that I have written the following several times - but I'm still hoping for a happy ending. I don't want Bill to be killed.
Bill standing next to a portrait of President Lincoln has me worried - why wasn't Bill standing next to a portrait of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson. I'm afraid that Bill will be shot down & killed because of Lincoln & Bill being in the same frame. I do believe that as many faults & mistakes Bill has made & how I could write a great deal of criticism about Bill - I do believe that Bill's heart & actions were based on good intentions.

Hate to burst any bubbles, but in a pre season teaser (can't remember which one) Jeanne Tripplehorn is interviewed about her character and says that "Barb will never leave Bill" Also read in earlier descriptions for the finale that a tragedy brings Sarah home and there was speculation that Bill may die. Based on what Alberteon posted from HBO and in recent finale spoilers (IMDB and SpoilerTV) it looks like Bill will survive. And I'm thinking Lois will kill Frank and commit suicide which will certainly bring Sarah home!
