I was SO proud of Barb! She all but told Bill she wanted a divorce! I think next season we will be seeing Barb living somewhere else.

I thought the opposite. I thought she changed her mind and is staying with Bill.

Barb didn't say she was leaving. She just said she doesn't need him. It is called keeping her options open if this thing goes as badly as it will go. Brava to her.

I think she struggled with getting up on that stage. I didn't take it as her changing her mind though. I'm not sure. We'll have to wait and see next season I guess.

She didn't change her mind. She is leaving. She is werid. She never was on board with The Pricniple from teh beginning. You could always tell that she barely tolerated Nikki and Margene. I say, "See ya Barb. Don't let the the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya." Buh-Bye

I guess that was the cliff hanger? Does Barb stay or go? Yawn. We did this in season 2 or season 3.

I know, me too. I was so glad she said that to Bill. I was hoping that she refused to get up on stage

I also was hoping she would refuse to attend and go on stage. How humiliating.

Why did she get on the stage anyway?
If she is leaving...she shoulda left.
She went up there and was unhappy, so she did it to please Bill, once again?
I'm trying really hard to understand Barb here but it's just not happening.

I think Barb felt obligated (being the public wife all through the campaign) to be there and not show there being "trouble in paradise" so to speak.
I don't think for one minute it means she isn't leaving him though.
I suspect Barb is done.
She clearly, CLEARLY isn't buying his testimonies. Marilyn's words at his home, about his religion being bullshit and nothing but an excuse to "fuck around" REALLY hit home to Barb. She didn't go out there and try and stick up for herself to Marilyn for a reason. Cause she knew Marilyn was dead on!
I was cheering Marilyn when she said "At least I own my sins instead of using God as an excuse" or something along those lines.

Personally, I think if Bill's words are BS, it is only b/c Barb is making them so. She doesn't want to share him anymore, so instead of using her position to guide the wives into living the Principle in a way that resembles the vision she and Bill set out with, she just goes around judging everyone and belitting them, and then reporting everything they do to Bill. Its like, "Let me talk to you about what your third wife did today."
And Bill has gotten smart, because more and more, he's saying, "No. Let my wife and I discuss our own business."
But that pisses Barb off b/c she thinks she should have control over everything. She canNOT dictate his relationship with his other wives to him. That is not within the confines of her role as wife. She knows this to be true. Yet, its like she can't help herself. She wants to micromanage everyone.
She wants a marriage where things are discussed and both spouses make the decisions. But that is not the kind of marriage you have with Bill, and you know that. He believes, as the Spiritual Leader of the household, he is responsible for both the personal growth of each individual within his family, but also that they are working collectively toward what he believs is his testimony. If she wanted a more "modern" type of family wherein both husband and wife make the decisions equally, then she should have left Bill years ago. Why say yes to something, and then do nothing but complain about it for a decade?

I don't buy any of this. Barb has always been as power-hungry as Bill. Now that she is not top dog anymore she is bailing. Good riddance. It's like a baby having a toy taken away...whine whine whine. So sorry Barb that you almost died then agreeed to have a 2nd then 3rd wife. Your fault; not Bill's.
As far as Marilyn saying polygamy is just an excuse to "fuck around" -- I sort of agree with her. Bill already admitted to 2 affairs (Margie and Ana) so he is obviously not a one woman man. The principle could be just one way for him to be able to be with more than one woman (sub-consciously). At this point I'm not sure if anyone really believes in it. It's more like brainwashing and Bill brainwashed himself!

clearly Barb has seen thru Bill & knows what he is all about-- she didn't say she was leaving him -- she said she didn't nee him -- to an ego-maniac like bill, this is even worse-- he thinks none of his woman can function without him---I wish she didn't get up on stage with him, but she certainly waited long enough so he still had to sweat it out && anyone could see she wasn't happy-- I think bIll made a fool of himself & they looked like freaks up there & Barb knew it-- where was ben----he was such a big part of the campaign & wasn't even shown at the acceptance speech-- what's up with that- didn't make sense esp since ben is the only family memeber who is really on board with the "principle" other than Niki

I dont think its about power
Barb was not ready to be publicy outed-and bill didnt listen to a damn thing she said! was she was wrong to make th call? yes she was but dammit she was trying to tell him she was scared and he wouldnt freaken listen!!
I rember in the second season first eppy when bill admitted he took advantage of her love and dragged her into a marriage she didt want and he knew shed do it for him
and at that time babrb was so in love with him she went with it
and she put up with nikki being added...him doing margie before he married her..him doign ana-the pregancy-and all becaus it what BILL wanted-she did for him because she loves him-she turns away from her own faith because she loves him
the ONE time she wants him to not do something-out them-for her and he didnt give a damn! he honestly didnt care and turned on her whn she tried to stop him
so I think what she meant is she doesnt need the man bill became-hes not who she fall in love with....hs not who she needed when nikki first came to them....and while that didnt mean a divorce I think Barb is honstly at her witss end with bill
one more-we need this for the princpal barb-and me thinks bills first love is gonna leave his ass!

I don't get the hate for Barb for her telling Bill she didn't need him and wanted a different life. Barb never wanted to live "The Principal". She married Bill and saw her life much like her mother's and sister's lives were. She got sick, Bill brought Nikki on board and things went from there. So you are right Barb tolerated Nikki & Margie that was it. She tried last season to live it full out with Ana and that got her burnt. It doesn't shock me that she's done with it.
