There have been a LOT of simultaneous storylines going on this season. Some have more or less been wrapped up ; Ben & Margene - and the fallout with bill from that. Lois's border bird smuggling - pretty sure she's done with that now lol alby & dale's affair - short lived but poignant story , and we'l likely see the after shocks but the affair its self ended with dale's suicide. etc.
Still there is alot left to wrap up in just two episodes - and something has to be left at climax for the season finale. (how else do they keep us coming back? lo)
so what do you think will be wrapped ? what do you think will conitnue into next season? and what do you think the finale's cliff hanger will be?

I think the cliffhanger is going to have to do with the whole Marilyn Densham situation and Anna. Not sure what they will be though. Those are the only storylines I can see them not having enough time to wrap up before the season is over.

I think the cliffhanger will have something to do with JJ's creepiness. There just to be so many layers to it, and I'm expecting there to be something that's left hanging so that he can come back and continue his weirdness.

Hi long-time HBO boards lurker/occasional poster...thanks for the mods here for providing a nice place to discuss the show!
One of the best features of Big Love is it has been so tricky to predict what is going to happen.
I think something is up with Barb, and I suspect the finale cliffhanger will have a lot to do with her. We expect Margene to be the one that leaves, but Nicky and Barb are unhappy too. Once Barb finds out what happened to Ben, that's just another nail in the coffin.... What's more, she doesn't like the idea of being publicized polygamists/con artists.
So I'm thinking Barb either leaves the family or breaks down in some way. She's definitely set to be at the center of the drama in the finale.
Maybe she'll just get with Tommy, but something we don't expect will also happen.

I would love the season finale ending with Tommy taking off Barb's shirt while they are passionately kissing, and a split screen showing Bill busy praying to heavenly father for something selfish.

We will have just found out the truth about Adaleen's pregnancy (but the family has not) and Nicki bursts out of her house shouting, "I'm pregnant!"

I do think that Barb will take center stage too. I noticed that tonight she really enjoyed the hug with Tommy and pulled back because it felt too good. I dont think she will break down mentally, I think for the first time since she has entered into the poly lifestyle, she is finally seeing Bill for what Bill is. Her job at the casino has opened her eyes and she enjoys working there. I think she is finally seeing her life and what it has become and she doesnt like it.

Ana (on Bill's cell): Ms. Desham?
Marilyn (on her cell): Bill? Who are you? This is Bill Hendrickson's number. Why are you calling me from his phone?
Ana: I didn't know how to reach you, so I borrowed Bill's phone. I thought you would answer if you saw his number. I have a problem, and I know you're very powerful in Washington, DC. Maybe you can help me.
Marilyn: Who are you? And why would I want to help you?
Ana: My problem is my fiance, he's about to be deported. And I have some information about Bill that I think you will want to know.

I think Bill will win the election, but Marilyn making trouble will follow to the next season. Too much there to tie up in one episode.
I think the episode might end with the family's polygamy becoming public knowledge, planned by Bill, without us seeing any of the public reaction till next season--good cliffhanger.
I think the Ana/Goran plotline is going to continue to the next season with no real resolution during the season finale.
I think we are going to find out from the UEB trust board member who Bill sent to Kansas what nasty scheme JJ is up to. I think that Adalene is kidnapped to somewhere, maybe Mexico (at the end of the episode), and won't be back in the US till further along in her pregnancy or until after the baby is born (i.e., next season). I don't know what will transpire regarding Nikki and whatever JJ's son might be doing to her. I bet that Nikki will be pregnant at the end of this season--but we won't know about how the baby will be or who's the parents, etc.--another good cliffhanger.
I think that Joey is going to do something fitting and violent to JJ when he returns and finds out what has been going on. Maybe kill him. But certainly stop what he's been doing. I think JJ may return to Kansas on the run. This is going to be the big blow-up action scene of the season finale. Joey has to do something to JJ for what he has done to Wanda. I hope JJ's parents get done to, too. We'll see Frank and Lois during these scenes, too, since they live at the compound. And, just maybe, the people of JC will proclaim Joey to be the new (maybe temporary) prophet.......
Thanks for this thread. I was wondering about this and suprisingly had some ideas. I really look forward to the very violent blowup scenes with Joey and JJ. JJ has been so creepy, I don't think the writers can possibly let him and his sicko parents get away with it drawn out to next season.
Joey has been in a number of the season finales--with pivitol roles. Like others have said of Wanda: she may not get the most screen time, but when she does, watch out! Same with Joey.
Re: Barb and Tommy. I just don't think she is going to sleep with him during this season. I don't think any of the wives are going to leave Bill during the finale. In fact, I think the series will end with all the marriage relationships intact. I don't think the creators of the series would destroy the family. We'll see, right?

The tag line in the preview for next week is what has my mind reeling "Till truth tears them apart" I really look for people to go different directions but I just can't see that all happening in an hour.

I think it's going to be something with the Kansas compound/JJ's medical experiments/Wanda's silence (and what they mention on the spoiler board about her and JJ's family)/Adaleen and Nicki's fertility. I think the Marilyn thing will be wrapped up in the finale- I thought Sissy was only staying for one season? So I think the big drama next week will be her and the election and the casino, and maybe some Barb or Margie tensions- that party for Sarah seemed like the calm before the storm. I think the Kansas compound will be next season's story, with Bill taking more control over the polygamists and eventually ending up in an even bigger leadership role at Juniper Creek.
BUt I love BigLoveRocks's scenario!! Go Barb and Tommy!

If I remember correctly I heard in the previews something coming from Barb about her changing or something changing in her.
I'll have to go back to the DVR and see. I am almost wondering if Barb starts falling out of love with Bill and tells him.

Since HBO has a habit of leaving us with a death or possible death as a cliffhanger, I'm betting on...
Adaleen? Joey? JJ Nicki? Bill? (Not really - but when I watched him sweating in that "game," and all the stress the poor man is under, trying to get everyone to do what he wants at all times, I did wonder.)
