Not the most riveting part of the episode, but it does mean one thing.
Bill was right about something.
Wow.

I already suspected that Marilyn and Reed were in cahoots but Paily being involved was totally unexpected for me.

I was surprised. I thought that Marilyn had something up her sleeve, but I didn't ever imagine that it would be with the conservative Christian Right. Doesn't she represent other Native American tribes which have to have casinos? And I think it was smart of Barb to have added it up. Too late, however. Marilyn played Barb masterfully.

Could someone please explain to me the Marilyn / Reed / Paily deal. What are they trying to do? Paily is the Congressman, right? I'm just confused about this story line and what is going on with it. I need someone to break it down point by point for me. Thanks!

They are all trying to take over the casino...
I hope Barb's signing the contract was not legitimate in one way or another, she did cross out Bill's name. They need to contact a lawyer.

Congressman Paily is trying to take over the casino? I wonder how Marilyn knew that Bill had a casino. Marilyn told Bill that she went directly to Jerry for the meeting and found out that Bill called her a liar and a thief and she could sue him. It looks like Bill was correct when calling Marilyn those names. I think that they should be able to get out of it because Marilyn falsely represented herself. I think that they could sue Marilyn. I still do not understand why Marilyn / Paily / Reed are trying to take over the casino. I'm certain it has to do with money. It is like someone else posted, hasn't Marilyn represented other casinos?

In D.C. Nikki met Marilyn in the bathroom and was pumping Bill up and mentioned he just opened a casino...
So that is when Marilyn found out and all of a sudden peaked interest in Bill.

I understand some of this but some of it I just couldn't get. *Marilyn makes money representing casinos *Marilyn hooked onto Bill to make money for herself *Marilyn cooked up this little "evangelical problem" to make herself more valuable What the heck does Paley have to do with any of this? ??

I think Paily and the evangelicals are going to get a chunk of Marilyn's "whale sized" price tag in exchange for keeping Bill under control.
Marilyn could have sued Bill for slander, but she decided she would get more money this way.
Paily gets Bill in the senate seat and gets to manipulate Bill into doing what HE wants Bill to do instead of Bill doing what he wants to do himself. So combine that with a chunk of Marilyn's cut of the casino money that makes Bill much easier to control than the other guy.

Thanks Marigoldmama, this story line is making more sense now. I don't know what Paley has to do with it. I think that Marilyn represented Paley in something because they seemed to have a strong relationship with each other. Now Marilyn, Paley and Reed are all in Scotland now, and, I am assuming together?

BigLoveRocks, that makes sense! Still, what Bill said to Jerry about Marilyn is true now. They did not know that Marilyn was going to give the evangelicals money nor did they know that Marilyn was positioning the situation for Paily to control Bill. It will be interesting to see how the situation is handled.

In the real world... That contract would not be binding. Barb, partner or not, cannot just cross off Bill's name and sign her name the way that she did. I think Marilyn knows they are polygamist and is going to use that to keep them from going to a lawyer about their contract.

Marilyn will be shocked to find out that Bill has plans on coming out as being polygamist. I don't think that she will be able to use that over his head for too long.

I hope Barb manages to straighten this out herself. The last thing I want to see is Bill riding in on his high horse saying I told you so and making everything nice.
