As much as I have been hating bill this season I think he may have finally begun to see the error of his ways. I think he is genuinely regretful of his part in Ben leaving. Is it enough? Should Ben forgive him? Do you think he will?
I dont know that Bill warrants his forgiveness yet. I think Bill should go to Ben himself (rather than send a wife) and give Ben the apology he asked for and deserves. Do I think that will be enough? No... but it would be a start.

I agree I don't think Ben would have came with Sara if she had found him. He didn't come running back when Barb went after him.
Bill is going to have to man up and face Ben head on. Bill has a lot of work to earn Ben's trust again. Ben isn't going to be like Marge and say Oh it's ok.

I definitely think Bill realized what a douche he was being and I think he should find Ben, apologize and make things right.
Ben did give him a chance to apologize, and Bill said "apologize for what?" Is he serious?

Bill has a lot of work to earn Ben's trust again. Ben isn't going to be like Marge and say Oh it's ok. i don't understand. ben and marge went behind bill's back. ben wrote his father's wife a love letter. marge has had feelings for ben for a long time. so exactly why does bill need to regain ben's trust? bill did not throw ben out of the house. ben took it upon himself to pack his things and then tell his father he thought it would be good to get out of the house for a little while. all bill did was agree with that. you don't know what bill was going to say if ben didn't speak first. plus, i highly doubt that bill would exile his son. that's what his father did to him and he would never do that to his kids. so when bill found out that his son and wife were lying to him (among other things), should he have just said "aw shucks, no big deal" ?? marge also lied to barb about ben. and now barb is sharing a sweat lodge with bill's partner. but bill is the bad guy in all of this?

Is he serious? apologize for what??? bill to ben: "hey ben, i'm sorry that i got a little upset when i found out you and marge kissed each other and you wrote her a love letter. and i'm really sorry that i got upset when marge said that she really meant to kiss you. to prove how sorry i am, why don't you and marge sleep together on the nights when i'm with barb and nikki?? i've always wanted to be a grandfather to my wife's child." c'mon. ben and marge betrayed bill. i think bill should get more than a week (which includes trying to win a nomination to run for state senate) to come to terms with being lied to and betrayed.

I think he probably should forgive him now. It's time. I think Bill has seen his part in the whole mess and is sincerely apologetic. Will he? I don't know. Maybe Ben will get up with Caralyn.

For starters, why didn't Bill at least ask where Ben was going? Ben's 17...and Bill of all people know what kind of dangers await a 17 year old boy. If my teenage son was packing up his stuff and told me he was going away for a while, the first thing I would want to know is where. Nope, he was perfectly content to just let him go without even trying to help get to the bottom of the situation. Had he said, "Wait a minute, son. We need to talk about this" I'm pretty sure that the situation would have been different and Ben would have been willing to talk. And apparently he didn't inform Barb that her son was going out to who knows where because of the whole Margie thing because she flipped out when she heard about it. That (among other things) is what makes Bill the bad guy.

He obviously was going to Ben's room to tell him to get out and nothing else...He didn't stay or say anything else after that. Bill is blaming Ben, like Ben is the problem...Like his wife is attracted to Ben and it is all BEN'S fault. It is Margie and Bill's fault, not Ben's. How can Ben NOT have a crush on Margie? She's been running around in short sexy robes and such all throughout the seasons, teasing and wrestling with Ben, picking him up from school wearing tiny short skirts...He's a kid...Margie is hot...I mean it isn't rocket science! LOL!

Bill has been anything but a stand up guy and father during this. Instead of telling Ben that they needed to talk about this, he agreed that Ben need to leave. Bill may not have meant for Ben to be exiled but that is how Ben felt and how the rest of the family viewed it. Sometimes your actions show something totally different than you intentions. No Bill shouldn't have said, "Aw, shucks" when he found out about Margene and Ben. He should have said, "We have a problem and we need to figure out what caused it." Nope, easier to agree that Ben needed to get out of the house. That's not being a dad. That's attempting to solve the problem by just removing half of the equation. That doesn't solve anything. It's like putting a band-aid on a severed hand.

so exactly how would all of you responded after finding out that your spouse and son had something going on? seriously. and that morning marge admitted to bill that she lied and had feelings for his son. it's great to be able to sit there and say how calm and rational you would be but i seriously doubt you would act any differently than bill. also, you don't know what bill was going to say to ben when he walked in on ben packing. ben brought up getting out of the house for a few days and then bill calmly said he was thinking the same thing. did bill yell and scream (like most people would after finding out they were betrayed) ? did he look like he was going to resort to violence? ben had plenty of places to go so it's not like he was getting thrown to the wolves like bill's father did to him. yeah, ben is 17. that is not some young sweet innocent age. and yet ben acts like he's 12. ben and marge need to seek bill's forgiveness. marge more so than ben. and bill knew where ben was going. they family thought ben was in idaho. bill felt bad because in his mind he wasn't throwing ben out for good. but after everyone's reaction he stepped back and saw that this isn't what he wanted. it was only a week after he found out. that and he's been under a lot of pressure and his family wasn't making things any easier on him. look, i'm not saying bill is perfect (far from it as all of us are). i mean the whole point of the show is to show everyone's faults (as well as good qualities). bill's heart is in the right place and for the most part does his best to improve life for his family and religion (which i don't believe is right but that's not the point). of all the people involved in this fiasco, marge is the one who needs to take the majority of the blame. she flirted with ben from the 1st episode. i just don't get how everyone here jumps all over bill and think marge and ben are his victims.

First off if Bill was any sort of husband or father this would never had happened. Bill is about as absent as any man I've ever seen. I've known men who worked out of town all week that were more present in their families then Bill is.
I would hope that if I was ever in this situation I would have the maturity level to sit all parties down and find out the real reason that it had happened. It happened, IMO, because Bill wasn't there for Margie in her hour of need. He was off on another one of his whims.
I have no sympathy for Bill when it comes to the stress he is under. It is of his own doing. The wives and kids are not putting more on his plate. He is adding more plates to his already full load.

Actually she did not put herself in that position fully because if Bill had been more attentive to her, she would not have had to go down that path. I think part of the point of the show is that no one can be a husband to three wives and do it well. So he is unraveling. These are the consequences of his actions.
