Did you ever wonder what inspired the creators of "Big Love." Will Scheffer & Mark Olson are the creators, Directors & Writer's of Big Love. During their research many years ago as to how they would portray a Polygamous Family, they came across a Family from Utah "The Darger's".. The Darger's are three wives and a husband. First wife, Alina and twins (Vickie & Valerie) that are all married to their husband "Joe Darger." They have been portrayed on "Oprah" and have been in a couple of magazines. They have written a book that will be coming out in September about their "suburban" plural marriage. They are all the sweetest people you could ever meet and they were the inspiration for Barb, Nikki and Margie... Not the character's lives, but more of how a plural marriage works, e.g. how they interact with their husband, the famous round table meetings of Boss Lady, etc.. I hope you check out their book when it comes out because the reason why they came out was to educate the public that we should all be accepting of "alternative" lifestyles. Plural Marriage should be de-criminalized in this country! Here is a link to their upcoming book. The first Paragraph is in the pdf file is about their upcoming book. www.harpercollinscatalogs.com/harper/517.pdf

More FYI: Here is a link to an interview and inside look of the Darger's life that was Portrayed on Oprah in 2007. The interview that Oprah has is with one of the wives, (Valerie "Val.") It's a great interview and shows a bit of what plural marriage is about and also how important it is for laws to de-criminalize these wonderful Families lifestyles. www.myspace.com/video/vid/21233130
