I know we are all talking this to death but it's fun to speculate. I think the one thing we all never really came to any real conclusion about is Joey and Wanda.
Someone (sorry can't remember who) said that Joey is most likely hiding out in Mexico.....and I think that's a good theory.
But could Wanda really go? She was so insane at the end could he take care of her while hiding out in Mexico? She needs doctors for sure. Then again, could he really leave her at the compound with her nutty family? And what about the baby? I guess Joey could have taken him to Mexico with him but that would have probably made Wanda go crazy even more; if that's possible!
The writers could do a whole season on the Joey and Wanda story...adding in some other of our favorite characters too.
I really just can't understand why nothing at all was said about them in the end??? Was it truly an oversight? Joey was NOT a small part of the show at all.
Here's another thought--IF no one knew where Joey was, and we don't know that for sure, does he ever find out Bill is dead? Can anyone reach him? Would he come back to pay his final respects?
So many questions about this interesting part of the show! I really wish we could come to some sort of closure with this.

Don't forget his mother also passed away that day. When the headwriters said this episode would tie up all the loose ends, just shows again how little they understand Big Love's audience and good story-telling.
My closure is that I will NEVER watch another series that has Olsen/Scheffer names on it - be it as producer, execute producer, writer, or even restroom attendant.

cynical--you are funny LOL. I won't watch their shows again either. I did forget when I was writing that Lois died too. Gosh, Joey lost half of his true family and he won't even know? I find the whole thing unacceptable! The show was cancelled by HBO and the writers had to tie up the ends as fast as they could. They dropped the ball.

That is just too funny, I'm sure you're not the only one feeling this way. I'm sure the writers would comment that they had such little time to finish the ending & not enough time to address the Joey & Wanda storyline. But the fact that they weren't even mentioned is simply delinquent/neglectful on their part.

Joey lost his brother & Mother [Bill & Lois] & still no mention of anyone notifying Joey to tell him, now that's just heart breaking imo. HBO gave the viewer 10 extra precious minutes for the finale; they could have given another 5 extra minutes to tie up the Joey & Wanda storyline.

I read an interview that said Joey was in Mexico and that Wanda had been at Bill's house for Christmas but they cut the scene. It pissed me off even more to find out they cut the scene out. It just made it clear the writers didn't realize some of us were invested in the Joey & Wanda storyline.

Yeah, i read that article too. I don't understand why they cut that scene out. That was retarded.

RETARDED is putting it mildly! I think Joey and Wanda were just too important of an influence in this series to just be ignored as if they didn't even exist. UGH!

Couldn't Barb talked to them on the phone....
"oh Joey, it was so good to see you at the funerals. we miss you guys and I'm so glad that you and wanda are well in Mexico"
would THAT have been hard?

Since we did not see the funerals, I choose to believe that they were there. ;D I've already said that we all had different expectations for the ending. That's one reason why I like it when ALL the questions are not answered...I can fill in the blanks the way I want!

Sure would have been nice if they could have had us decide if Bill really died. I'm with withay.....leave some gaps open, even if they are significant and we fill them in. That's why I never understood why people were so mad with Soprano's ending. Fill the gaps people and make the story your own. Why not, isn't that what we all deserve after taking the time to watch 53 episodes that were strung out in a five year span?

Also, I think that it was probably in Wanda's best interest to not be around the Henricksons this past year because everything was so stressful and tense. I have chosen to believe that Joey realized Wanda's mental state due to the whole JJ saga, and decided to remove her from the compound.

Yes, I cannot imagine Wanda maintaining her fragile grip on sanity if she was on the compound this year. I do hope that she and Joey are together because they do seem to have a real love for each other.

I'm still hoping that JoDean, now free of Frank, found her way back to Wanda and Joey. Yes, it's a little creepy that Joey fell in lust with her because she reminded him of her dead sister, but it seems like they could have developed a relationship of their own based on her personality. Wanda needed a sister wife, in fact, she needed someone competent to be the first wife, and JoDean certainly fills that bill.
Wanda's choices are pretty limited. If Joey can't take care of her, there's nobody else to turn to except the Hendricksons. I can't imagine Barb turning away Bill's sister-in-law and nephew.
Since Wanda was so quick to try to murder people, it would be interesting to see how she reacts to actual deaths. JJ - good, Bill - bad. What effect would those have on Wanda? Remember she blamed herself for Kathy's death because she wished her dead. Would she blame herself for JJ's?
