This is a beef thread where you can air out your grievances about what the writers are doing wrong with Big Love this season.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a beef with the writers because now they've made Teensy out to be some kind of trouble-making-tattle-tale and frankly I don't like it. All of a sudden they've replaced the actress and now she's causing a mess of trouble.

Me too. It is not the old teeny. She would have held it in I think and there was no reason to bring up the letter now.....

Yeah I totally didn't like how Teenie exaggerated the truth about what happened with Margie and Ben last season.
The whole standing out by the pool in her bikini with her brother seemed kinda freaky too. I don't know why.

I agree, they made Teeny seem really annoying in this episode. I used to like her character, and now I really don't find her appealing. She seems closed-minded and self-righteous. I hope that her character evolves in some better way.

Seems like they "jumped the shark" on Teenie's character this season. Otherwise I have no other beefs yet.

I really like the changes in Teeny and think that she should have more of an edge to fit the overall character of the show. In fact, they seem to be building up her storyline to be very exciting. As for Jolean's replacement, they couldn't have gotten a better actress than Bella Thorne. The fact that so many of you have noticed Teeny after so few scenes so far bears that out. I can't wait to see how all of this season's plotlines play out, including Bella as Teeny.

rush every episode. That would be my "beef" with the writers this season. Each episode feels rushed and we are only getting small glimpses of story lines that would be so good if only they would go a little deeper.
I have had the urger to watch them each a couple of times so I can catch everything.

.... rush the Nikki/Ray situation? We didn't have to see it end so abruptly. It would have been nice to see her struggling with her feelings a little bit more with Ray still in the picture.

Yeah I would have loved to see more of Nikki and Ray.

I think Teeny's character is evolving exactly as she would in real life, a young woman desperate for attention in a household where kids are not cherished as individuals and four parents are running around concerned only with their business interested and social climbing. She uses the cards she has, manipulating in the same way Nicki, Lura, Adaleen, Sarah, Rhonda, and every single other woman raised in polygamy has done.
In seasons past we used to see the wives, and Bill, being parents and nurturing their children. Their relationship with their kids, especially the younger ones, is almost nonexistent at this point. We haven't seen any interaction at all, mostly because there is just no time.

Maybe it's just me but I have always seen Teeny this way. I just think she's upped the ante a bit.
My Beef? I thought the whole ana thing was rushed - like what? 5 minutes? passed between the time she said "I do" to the time she walked out the door... never to be seen or (really) even spoken of again? the only thing that really cam eof them not dealing with it, is that it set the pace for everything else in their lives- they just stopped dealing with stuff.

Yeah I never cared for Anna or her storyline...But I felt the whole marriage and seperation was totally rushed. It was what, one episode? LOL!
I would also like to know what happened to Selma...And why she dresses in men's suits for crying out loud!

I agree with ragnarockette regarding Teeny's character and the lack of attention paid to the children. It looks like Bill is seeing the effects of paying too little attention not only to the children but also his wives. All the wives and children are desperate for his attention and acting out to get it.
