Wanda's character, played by Melora Waters, is part of the cast list for the final episode, "When Men and Mountains Meet" : www.imdb.com/title/tt1638387/She is also listed on last night's episode. I wonder if she was the woman who spoke to Nikki on the phone from the compound, allowing Adaleen to hear the conversation, when Nikki thought it was private? She was wearing make-up, and appeared less homely, which is why I didn't recognize her. Looks like she was siding with the Albyites, not Nikki or Bill's camp. Amanda Seyfried has said in interviews that the finale will be "crazy" and unexpected. I wonder if Wanda, who is truly crazy, might kill Bill. No one is expecting him to be murdered now, with Alby out of the way. Like many others, Wanda has reason to be angry with Bill. He persuaded Joey to enter polygamy, despite the fact that Wanda couldn't emotionally tolerate it. Now Joey has abandoned her. Then the show will fast forward to the future, Six Feet Under style, and show us how the three wives make their way in life.

The woman Nicki was talking to was her sister.
If Wanda is back for the finale, I wonder if it's possible that Frank dies. The preview showed Lois in the hat...
Or, we could be completely wrong and what we are assuming is a funeral is really them all at the church Barb now attends watching her be baptised in to it. Maybe they all convert...j/k.

She was talking to Nikki while Adaleen was typing? That was not Wanda, that was Nikki's half sister, Evie.

The goal of any series is to attract viewers to the screens for a long period and keep their interest in the product episode by episode. Many consecutive series use the classic element of soap operas - a recap at the beginning and a cliffhanger at the end of the episode.
