I posted this in the episode 4 discussion but I think this is more of a general question...so I have re-posted it here:Is it just me, or does Nikki's daughter seem to be a little manipulative? It seems like Nikki is now getting a taste of her own medicine!! In previous season's Nikki has always been the master of lies and deception, but it seems that her daughter, Cara Lynn is just as deceiving as she is. ;D Cara Lynn plays off of Nikki's guilt to get whatever she wants from Nikki and then she plays the perfect angel in front of JJ (her father) and tells him that she hates staying with Nikki. I am interested to see how this whole storyline is going to play out. Does anyone else agree?

Yeah, I definitely agree that Cara Lynn is manipulating them both. Seems the apple doesnt far from the tree in this case.
In my mind I had already given her a free pass (atleast to some point) just because ... well, look who her parents are , her life to this point, etc. she has to be severely mixed up emotionally.
I was really moved by her confronting nicki in the last episode; about leaving her , about using her to ease her guilt, etc. I was glad she did. Not that I think Nicki doesnt care about her. It just struck me as her finaly being real with her mom, which also made me think she was starting to care for here... or atleast see her as more than a ticket out. ya know?

you're probably right , it is more of a "general" thread / topic. Since you moved it over here, i deleted the other identical thread just to cut back on confusion

The love Nikki has for Cara Lynn is so powerful it just jumps off the screen. She does see herself in Cara Lynn and she adores her for it even as she advises her about lying, "it almost never works."
I was rooting for a Nikki/Ray relationship, now I am just rooting for more Nikki/Cara Lynn. The love of Nikki's life may turn out to be the child she was forced to abandon.
That is a lot more interesting than Barb at the Casino and whatever Bill is trying to do in Washington.

I think Caralyn is struggling with the fact that her mother abandoned her...And like many girls her age...She's going through that rebellious phase.
I do think she is manipulative, but I don't know a 14 year old that isn't lol!
It will be interesting to see where this ends up.
