Margene is seriously depressed.... Does anyone else think she's going to lean towards divorce?

I think out of all the wives, she is the most likely to leave Bill. It doesn't seem like she is getting much out of the marriage anymore.

Alternatively, that Mormom Multi-level Marketing Guru is very pretty and a quick affair with him could be the bottom she needs to hit before she grabs the kids and runs.
Run Margene!

Although I agree that Margene should leave, I don't think she will. She's lost her business and wouldn't even be able to support herself. I do see trouble ahead with that infomercial guy though. It will be interesting to see if things get steamy.

I don't think Margene will leave either. I think she will latch on to some new way to get ahead, maybe the multi level marketing thing...but what I hope is that she continues to sell her jewelry. Yeah, she's out with VSN but there's an awful lot of publicity on her still - she can totally spin that if she wants. She just needs to get over the emotional blow first.

I think Margene is going to stick around, mostly for financial reasons.
Remember when they had the vote about the cassino and Margene talked about how her kids were young and she needed the financial stability that they cassino could provide?
Margene has three young children and (I think) no job training, vocational or professional skills.
Big motivation for staying with Bill.

I think she'll hit it big with this marketing and leave Bill. She will want to be in control of her own destiny from now on and not have to rely on someone else. Oh heck..I dunno.

How can Margene be fired for being a polygamist? Even through polygamy is illegal.;it would have to be proven that she committed a crime. She is not legally married to Bill and can have any kind of living arrangement that she chooses. Isn't there some kind of discriminatory action that can be explored on her behalf?

I was wondering the same thing about how they could fire her so easily, but then I thought maybe they didn't technically fire her. She mentioned something about a morality clause in the contract, and even though she hasn't committed a crime by being in a polygamous marriage (remember she isn't legally married to Bill, it's more or less just a religious agreement), she did lie to her employer and to their customers (remember on the air when she cried and said her husband had ran off and left her?) I think by breaking that clause she more or less made the contract void. That said, I still think that woman treated Margene terribly!

Her boss only cared about one thing, Margene's ability to sell bracelets. Margene lied to the public and lied to the boss. I don't think that woman enjoys being lied to, especially when it effects her bottom line.
If Margene had warned her, the boss might have been able to see her way clear to the severance package just to get her out of the way.

It's illegal to co-habitat in Utah. And she admitted to being a polygamist publicly, so yes, she committed a crime.

It's possible that Margie was an independent contractor with the HSN and that is why they could let her go so easily. Most of the people who present their own items on these shows are independent contractors and not employees. They do have contracts, but with independent contractors they can be let go for any reason and they have no recourse. It's not the same as being employed. For example, Margie cannot get unemployment because (I'm sure) she was an independent contractor--and independent contractors are not eligible for unemployment benefits. It's a crappy situation but companies do it to save on tax money.
About leaving--I really do not think any of them will leave. All of the interviews state that "Big Love" is about love conquering ALL obstacles. I think they will all stay together. Not without problems, but no one is leaving.
