I just read that Sissy will be joining a new CBS drama, so I'm assuming she'll be leaving Big Love. Can't say I'm upset at her departure; I think her character was responsible for the show going in too many directions at once. So how will next season begin; obviously without her threats against Bill and his family.
Maybe the writers will get the show back on track and focus on what is really important: Bill juggling family, wives, children, politics, work, religion, and sanity.

I think she'll be back. We still need to learn why Bill pushes all of her hot buttons. Even if she is joining another cast, filming likely isn't on the same schedule as Big Love.

I think she'll be back too. If they just drop her storyline next season... That will just suck. I mean, how can they now that the Henrickson's came out?

I guess the question becomes, is Sissy Spacek's character necessary now that the Henrickson's have come out and Bill's campaign is over? Her character's main focus was to ruin Bill's campaign by possibly outing him as an adulterer with Margene. Bill has now won the campaign and come out as being married to Margene. So is she really necessary?
I think they should bring her back in order to tie up some loose strings, like the casino business, but I don't think her character her will be around for as long next season.

So is she really necessary? No - I think her character was used to crack Barb's hardshell skin. From the moment Bill assumed Marilyn was a "secretary," Marilyn was out to get him, and she used Barb's doubts as a way to do that. I really think Barb woke up when she overheard Marilyn say that polygamy was just another way to [screw] around.

She needs to comeback long enough to finish her storyline. We need some closure with it, like is Bill going to out her underhanded affairs now that she has nothing on him.
