Prior to finding out he'd won, he told his wives he'd hired a press agent, a limo to get them out of there quickly, etc. oh, and "here go splurge on a new dress at Dillard's" LOL
But when the big moment comes - there were a few things that struck me....
The fact that he called his wives up one by one didn't really leave much choice on their part for last minute changes of heart , did it? also, the ORDER in which he called the wives up struck me as odd. He called nicki up first, then margene, then barb. True he gave Barb a shout out as first wife and his first love... but i think even she found it odd he called nicki up first. maybe brought her back to the dressing room convo she had with nicki earliler " you were only first wife because you were public wife, things are going to change" etc.
Then the looks on the wives faces once they were up on stage looking out at the audience... Magrnee looked scred to death. Nicki was looking out at them with a very solid almost defiant stance, and Barb just looked heartbroken.

I didn't notice the order...good point.
Yep, Nicki looked stoic, Margene looked scared and Barb look heartbroken.

I think this is just a sneak preview of what is to come next season. I think that Nicki will be the only wife standing come to the end of the series. And I think she will have what she always wanted to be, first wife. To me I think Barb is done. I also think Margene is too, she would rather be with Anna and whats his name. A sneak preview if you will. But then I could be totally wrong

I dont understand the order
but I think their looks protray each wife-nikki is stoic cause she loves bill and is doing this for him-shes being the perfect little poly wife not letting her feelings show
Margie is scared! shes scared to lose her busniess...get into trouble about goran etc
and barb is heartbroken-bill flat out broke her heart in this episode -gone is the man she marrid all those years ago...the man she needed for 20 years is now a man who only cares about himself
so their looks so how they was for this episode IMO

is it just me, or did anyone else notice their outfits? and the blatant RED WHITE BLUE that they made? Barb was in red, nicki white, margie blue(purplish) ? It was very obvious in the very end when they were all holding hands. It kinda made me laugh tho... i mean, honestly, writers... or should i say costume coordinators, that can't have been a coincidence, yet i don't think it was done intentionally on the wives part.

when they were in the dressing room and both nicki and barb were in red and margene in blue... i sort of thought about it as representing their politcal parties. (republican / democrat) lol But yeah, the patriotic red white and blue thay they ended up displaying just seemed as inane to me as politicians wearing yellow ribbons or flag pins. (yet our country remaining bipartisan, and the troops not getting just treatment) Although it did make for a nice photo op / shot.

I am almost wondering if the ending was a nightmare or a dream... It seemed almost like that. With the wind, and the lightning and everything... Perhaps next season we'll start out with Bill waking up the day of the election and that having been a dream?

wind and lightening? did i miss something? Yeah at the very end of the scene the camera rushes up to them and you see wind and what appears to be a flash of lightning.

Didnt catch the wind - i'll have to watch again, but i thought the flashing light was flash from the press cameras.

There were definitely flashing cameras, but when I heard the thunder sound and saw the wind thent he flash, I "assumed" it was lightning. It seemed as if a storm was coming. Foreshadowing perhaps.

I was puzzled by the wind, because it seemed they were indoors.
I thought the order was weird, too - Nicki thought she was becoming first wife, and then realized he'd left "the best for the last."
I think he brought Barb up last because he was afraid she'd refuse, and once the others had come up, she wouldn't have a choice.
Also, were people leaving because they were horrified/disgusted, or because they were reporters leaving to report a story, or both? The first couple looked tight-lipped and disgusted.

I think that people were walking off because they were mad. Did you hear what random people in the crowd were saying? "I didn't vote for this!" , "Are you kidding me?", "You lied to us?", "How many wives do you have?!", etc. The were pretty pissed. Bill bamboozled Utah.

Remember last season when Bill meant Niki in the diner and first said that he loved her and then the scene repeated again and he asked for a divorce? It was almost like the first scene was a dream and then reality came in. I hope you remember the scene I'm talking about. It was never explained why that happened.

I noticed the hair blowing so that has to be wind.
I was thinking it was them rushing into the future.
Re: calling Barb last, It made for some good drama on the part of the writers.
