Hi
Anyone (who has read spoilers and interviews with the creators) noticed that there seem to have been some dropped storylines that were meant to be in season 4; but weren't? The most obvious example is Rhonda; that has been explained but I remember reading about Cindy's other daughter (who I think was in the episode where Barb's mom was getting remarried) going to an LDS correction camp for rebellious girls and coming back and having fisticuffs/run ins with Cara Lynn, it seemed the part was cast and those scenes may well have been filmed; because I was reading it in spoilers/interviews pretty much right up until this season started airing. Since they refilmed and cut last season to 10 episodes; it seems to me they film a whole bunch of 'material' for big love, shape it into episodes and any surplus storylines get cut out?
Also the creators said in interviews or soundbytes given to Ausiello etc that the Ana storyline and the Ben and Margene storyline would not crop up again until season 5; so whats with them being reintroduced in this season? Considering it was such a hectic season; and they knew it would be in advance; wouldn't it have been better to stick to the original 'program' there; or maybe they thought it wouldn't get renewed for a 5th season so better chuck all the loose ends in there possible...
anyone heard of any other spoilers that have not made their way into the show after all?
Soph

Hi
another example Ive just thought of; Scott's parents the Quitmans, a traditional LDS couple were meant to come for the wedding and cause various ruckuses with Sarah and the family during this season, again from what I read it appeared these parts were cast and everything but for some reason the whole storyline just didn't make the cut.

I always wonder is some of those ideas are floated by the production team to keep us guessing. Also wonder if some of thema re invented by the public.

I can't remember which television show, but I do remember reading about one where false storylines were put out in order to keep the audience guessing. So I guess it is possible that they do the same for Big Love. It makes sense, or else we'd all know what is going to happen before the season even starts!

Hi
that could be true; but with the storyline with Scott's parents; it would have made sense to have it in there, its a bit odd that Sarah and Scott got married and they just move away without any input from his parents?

as to dropped storylines - sometimes they surprise me by picking them back up once ithink they're dead and gone. Other times they leave us open ended.
But with "spoilers" that didnt pan out - false spoilers are common.

It makes sense, or else we'd all know what is going to happen before the season even starts! grey's anatomy does that, like intentionally gives out false spoilers they also have the creator of the show stand there and say "so and so character DOES NOT HAVE A TUMOR" yet lo and behold, by the end of the season, it *was* a tumor. It's really annoying and i would much rather they kept their mouths shut and left us with nothing to chew on, then lie to our faces thinking we like the guesswork i'd have liked to see season 4 stretch out over 4 and 5... i dread what hurried concoction of a storyline we're gonna get next season

It would be really cool if the DVD set came out as a "Director's Cut" version with lots of unbroadcast scenes. I'd buy that

Especially for season 4 - with the time restraints you KNOW they dropped quite a few scenes. In an interview (over on the news board) the writers said they cut scenes for the finale with joey, barb and tommy and also cut the scene short with margene ana and goran... I would efnitely liked to have seen those. I think the writers need to negotiate a 2 hour finale into their HBO deal if we're getting shorter than normal seasons... but i guess they settled for one more ep on season 5 instead

Soph The actress (Bella Thorne) who was hired to play Cindy's daughter was recast as Teeny when they lost Jodean. I guess when they decided to use her in that part, they just dropped the other storyline.

It seems to me that the main character is not very suitable for this role. But we do not choose actors.

By the way, does anyone have this romantic urge for someone?

In modern television, when demand clearly exceeds supply, anyone who has not proved the opposite can become a director. It remains only to embarrassedly nostalgia for the times when the hateful councils of the time hated at that time did not allow vulgarity and ignoramus into the profession
