Last year Home Plus was in the red or at least on verge of being in the red. Weber Gaming didn't have enough money to do the model of the proposed casino.
This year there are extra funds to run a senate campaign. I don't care how small it costs money and if you you were broke 6 weeks ago I can't imagine you have a lot of extra cash laying around now.
The economy isn't a lot better now than it was when the last season ended so I can't imagine that either company is doing wonderful right now. Marge isn't sharing her money with the family. So where is the money for the new house going to come from? Barb already said they couldn't afford a 9000 sq ft campaign headquarters. But Bill is going/ or at least wants to buy a 9000 sq ft home and the cheapest one in the Utah area I found on line was 1.8 million.

You are completely right, of course.
But this is Big Love, and Bill Hendrickson has no need for logic. No doubt he is hoping to off set the cost of the McBighouse by selling the perfectly adequate set of houses he currently owns. Or maybe he is rolling in that casnio money...
My guess is that Bill had a whim while reading a real estate magazine on the toilet. The whim was the judged the will of the heavenly father when Bill dropped a deuce at the exact moment he saw the ad for McBighouse.
Marilyn called it. Bill is a douche.

Somehow I think money burns a hole in Bill's pockets...
He gets Home Plus going and then decides he doesn't want to pay Roman back anymore for the money he gave Bill to pay for Barb's cancer treatments... He is making money so he has to spend it... So what does he do? He decides he wants a casino...
The casino starts making a ton of money so instead of putting it towards his family or savings or something else worthwhile... What does he do? Spend it all on a campaign.
I swear, he wants to be Roman only with more money and more power. It is ridiculous.

So what does he do? He decides he wants a casino I dont think roman paid for barbs cancer treatments. Roman staked Bill in the opening of the first home plus - for a portion of the profits the store brought in. When Bill opened up the 2nd store roman thought he was entitled to a portion of the profits from that store as well, and bill disagreed.... so basically all hell broke loose. I think it was around that time that the casino notion came into play... while Bill was trying to keep romans hands off his money. Also, when home plus was "in the red" wasnt it due to their money being temporarily tied up in either opening the 2nd store / trying to start the casino partnership? (or both?) I think it was meant to show bill over extending himself - not to infer that they had no money / werent making a profit. All those technicalities aside ... i agree that he is never satisfied.
