Hi all, I'm new here but been reading for a while:) I llok forward to being able to get to know everyone and share my opinions. On to my post...
As soon as Barb brought up his cheating and conceiving a child with Ana out of wedlock he just rounded up everyone and showed them a house. Is that all?? The writers seem to brush off everything but this one is big. Bill just diverted attention, didn't address it. Its like he can get away with anything. Do you guys think the subject of his cheating os over??
Thanks!

I don't think that his accounting for his cheating should be over by a long shot. Look how dejected Bill was when all Margene did was kiss Ben....and the same thing with Nikki. Nikki and Margene both have major ammunition....It also may make Barb re-think the possibility of doing something with Tommy.
I am LDS, so I understand the history behind plural marriage. Sexual intercourse outside the bonds of marriage, even plural marriage is a HUGE no-no....and because Mormonism is a patriarchal religion, there are even graver consequences for the man engaging in this behavior than the woman. Since the man is the priesthood holder, he has a graver responsibility, and would be excommunicated. It's even possible that his other wives would no longer be his to claim, if he was living during Brigham Young times.
I think that Barb has the most soul searching to do at this point. She has stood by Bill all of this time. I think the main reason she was OK with the idea of his having multiple wives is because she knew that she couldn't have anymore children after her cancer. This was her way to continue to be a mother.
I think she is realizing that Bill is simply thinking with his dick, and he doesn't have to worry about consequences. She is starting to realize that there are men like Tommy and Scott, who actually do possess the capacity to love and devote themselves to ONE woman. Her children aren't little anymore; it would actually logistically be much easier for her to leave the marriage. And, since she is the only LEGALLY married wife, she holds the financial cards. She's got Bill by the balls in more ways than one. Bill better watch his step because if he pushed Barb too far, she could utterly destroy him single-handedly.

liz3564 makes a good point about Barb being able to destroy Bill. Out of all of the wives, she would be the most justified in leaving him. After all, she married Bill for love, only to be coerced into polygamy while she was near death due to cancer. Her love for Bill obviously runs deep, but she is beginning to see how selfish he really is. If Barb decided to finally leave Bill and/or hit him where it hurts, I would be ALL for it!

If Barb were to leave (and I still don't think she will), I definitely don't think she would go after him financially because she loves Nicki and Margene's kids way too much. Plus, if she did, I think she would ultimately look worse than Bill in the end because she's hurting children who really had no say in the matter. It's not the children's fault that their mother isn't the legal wife to Bill.

Bottom line is Bill needs to be brought back to earth every once and a while.
