If Bill does in fact buy that house, at this point it doesnt look like any of the 3 wifes he has now will be there. Maybe that is it, he will become phophet and take all new wifes. Yes, I agree. I don't see any of his current wives living with him in his "big" house. I feel each one (particularly Nikki, and especially Barb) will find their own voice and embrace monogamy. The break up of Don's family was a foreshadowing of things to come.

I don't see it working either. Bill is very out of touch. The set-up they have now seems as ideal as you can get. If I were any of them, I would not be moving.

I agree the setup now is ideal BUT I saw this kinda house on Oprah's polygamist special, and it is a MEGAMANSION, like dwarfs all 3 houses put together...so they would live there, probably with hired help and live in palatial style.
Still, I think mansion or no, I would still prefer my own space.

i wonder if the writers are trying to hint that maybe bill does intend to take on more wives in the future... i mean, they are bringing ana back to remind us that this was once forefront on his mind.... plus in a mansion he'd have room to add more wives/kids. Right now he's stuck with the three houses and would have to divvy them up between everyone cause i don't think he's just that lucky that the house next door to marge or barbs would suddenly become on the market the moment he needed it

I think Bill wants a "Big House", just like Roman had on the compound. And he has apparently completely forgotten that they WERE all in one house and they bought the three houses because his wives were going out of their minds!

I think that a house that huge would be great for them. It would afford them both communal space (which they only have outside now) AND plenty of rooms and space for their personal 'family' areas. It would be great for the wives to have a huge kitchen and huge dining area, since they do eat together. I see lots of little studies and parlors--those types of smaller personal spaces, as well as the big gathering, great-room type spaces. I can see a multimedia room they all could share, a big laundry area, a multi-car garage. They could be together AND separate, all under one roof. Moving there goes hand-in-glove with no longer hiding their polygamy. That is Bills dream.
I don't think it is like Roman's big house at all. That was the 'palace' in a compound of hovels and run-down houses. Different feeling all together. And I don't see Bill having 10 wives or 50+ kids.

Maybe Bill wants this SOO BADLY because he wants to take 10 viagras a nite and bedhop each wife every single night? LMAO!

I do think this is intentional on the part of the writers, but more to challenge us viewers to compare the two brands of polygamy. In the beginning, Bill's brand of polygamy bore little resemblance to JC. His wives were all consenting adults who coexisted with little agitation among them. It was all love and petty jealousies. His business practices and pursuits were above board and appeared to have been confined to caring for his family financially and spiritually. It all seemed pretty mainstream. The more time went along, though, the similarities between Bill's and JC's brands of polygamy become more apparent: power grabs and shameful manipulation. Bill's new 9,000 square foot wonder is more than just a house, it is symbolic of the similarities between what he proclaims and what actually is.

That was kind of the point I was hoping to discuss.
His reaction to Barb's calling him out on his behavior / confronting him was to show them all this house. It felt to me like he was saying " look here is a physical proof of my intentions for this family." Almost like he thought that would prove his ultimate innocence , or justify his actions... and make everything ok?
Once again, it's just one more example (a big 9k sq ft example!) of how out of touch Bill is. The fact that he seemed to think this would somehow help plead his case shows how clueless he is, how backwards and confused IMO.
Then again, maybe i just interpreted it wrong. Maybe it was Bill's way of saying "This is what I want, either you're on board or you're not" ? Maybe he really doesnt even feelt he need to justify his behavior - he doesnt even seem to be aware of most of it.
But when will Bill's "intentions" finally be overshadowed by his actions? (from his wives perspective) Or will they?

In Bill's mind, all he has to say is "I'm a man, I made a mistake..." and everyone is expected to say "Oh okay then." and go on as if everything is normal.
It makes me sick!
We all have known from the beginning the wives want their own houses. Nobody has ever given Bill any sign they want to live under the same roof... Like living in one big house would be the ideal situation! Please!
Just look at their faces at the end of that scene... They looked bewildered as to what the hell he was talking about.

Bill doesn't care what makes them happy. If he cared about making them happy, he'd have driven them up to a large plot of land and told them that each of them could build the home that they wanted for themselves and their children. Within a certain budget, of course and with him designing the out door space and communial building.

A lot of you seem to have seen soemthing in the faces of the wives in that scene that I didn't. I saw shock - nothing more or less.
I'm anxious to see what their reactions are going to be b/c even though I can see no reason they would be happy about this / even on board... sometimes i'm shocked by the wives reactions to bill's "out there" notions. This could be one of those times.
Although i cant think of a single reason that any one of the wives would want to move to "Bill's big house" - i've been shocked before.

It wasn't really in their "reaction" so to speak as it was their "Non-reaction".
I think Bill expected them to be jumping for joy and all excited and the three of them just stood there looking at the house like "wtf?". They didn't seem thrilled by any means. At least to me.

I'm confused about something - was the reference to needing a larger campaign headquarters just a ruse so that he could work with real estate agents behind his wives' backs?

Several years ago when I was vacationing in southern Utah, I visited the remains of the Fremont settlement, an early homestead area of the Mormons. The guide pointed out that each woman had her own house, complete with a stone wall that separated it from other houses. Apparently it was very important to each sister-wife to have her own place. Maybe the more communal style of living became popular with the FLDS. Anyway, Bill seems to be defying the traditional in LOTS of ways.
