Yes, Barb signed the contract, but for the wrong reasons. She just found out about Ana's out of wedlock pregnancy and Marilyn's playing her like a violin. I't's mainly a reaction to Bill, not a good reason to make an important business decision. Ita. This will bite them in the arse. That Marilyn is a trip.

His whole attitude with Barb confronting him pissed me off. Look at how he reacted with the Nikki/Ray situation. He didn't let her off the hook for months. Margene was also in the dog house for a while after the Ben situation. And in those cases, the women never actually had sex with the other men. If the writers don't have Bill get his soon, I am going to be bitterly disappointed. Well said southernsong! I think Bill hinted at this when he had a brief moment with Margene before he made the senate speech. He asks them to "confront their jealousies every day" even though he goes off and does whatever he wants when he decides to pick a woman. So why should he be mad if they have a wondering eye ever now and then? heh? heh?

I was glad when Barb signed those papers. I think that when Barb crosses out Bill's name on the papers then signs her name shows that Barb is ready to come into her own.
The life she is leading is not what she wanted. This all started because she got cancer and believed she was going to die. Not wanting her children to be motherless, and, she needed help Nicki came to live with them. Barb thought that she was going to die. Nicki thought Barb was going to die.
When Barb did not die her life came undone. Barb was more than likely very weak after having cancer. Bill decided that it was best for the family to live the principal. Now we are not sure if Bill decided it was best to live the principal or if Bill just wanted Roman's money to open another Home Plus store. Regardless, Bill decided to seal himself to Nicki and get the money from Roman. Nicki wanted to be married to Bill because she always thought that he was the prophet but she thought that she was going to be first wife.
Then Bill starts having an affair with the baby sitter and young employee at Home Plus, Margene.
My point to all of this rambling is this is not the life Barb wanted or ever thought she would have. When she signed those casino papers it seemed like to me Barb is starting to reclaim the life she had prior to getting cancer.

This was kind of the topic I was trying to raise with my "9000 sq ft. intentions" thread - but that went somewhere else lol
I LOVED that Barb saw Bill clearly for a change... and i wonder if this is going to cause her eyes to remain a bit more open (on all subjects not just his cheating.) I was SO glad she finally stood up for herself and stood up to Bill. I hope it is a hint of more to come.
I just wonder if with her vision cleared Bill's intentions will be enough for her? His actions clearly speak a much different story .

By signing the contract with Marilyn, I think Barb was also showing more sensitivity to her Blackfoot partners, Jerry and Tommy Flute. They wanted the lobbyist's efforts. Marilyn's skankyness aside, if you're new in the casino business, it's good to be a part of the whole Indian Nation's profile in Washington, D.C.

I agree with all of you. I just hope that Barb signed that contract with the right intentions. If it was an (unconscious) F-you to cheating and lying Bill, than that is bad and she may get taken out to lunch by Marilyn. However, have any of you considered that Marilyn might really warm to Barb and end up being a 'good guy' in this scenario? Hates Bill but loves Barb?
It also burns me up how slow he has been to forgive the infidelity of Margie and Nikki, but totally blows off his own. His answer to Barb was resentful and snotty: 'I'm not perfect.' He was only unhappy about being 'caught'. He is much more guilty of infidelity as either Nikki or Margie, but acts like his shite doesn't smell. He not only was unfaithful twice, but he had sex with the women.
I think some of this is due to his upbringing in a subculture wherein the men are entitled by the mores of the group to unlimited and unbridled sex with whomever they want--even rejecting their own sons when those sons pose as competition for the young virgins.
Barb's tirade at him was totally accurate. I was so glad to finally hear it said by one of the wives.
I like Bill; I think he means well and behaves mostly with courage and conviction. I think he busts his arse to provide for his families. But sometimes, he drives me nuts.

I think Barb signed the contract for 2 reasons...
1- She is sick of it being "a boys club" as Marilyn pointed out. I think her not being told about that meeting was the last straw for Barb. She is the one up there handling everything and on the board, yet she gets no respect? So yes, part of her reason for signing was a sort of "F YOU BILL".
2- She was also signing it because she knows Bill wants to go public about their polygamy... She said earlier in the episode she is afraid when that happens they will lose Home Plus, the kids might be subject to CPS or other ridicule... The casino is her "safety net" and if that means paying Marilyn a hefty sum of money to keep them out of trouble... Whether or not she is a shark looking to turn a profit, they need someone like her to keep the lions at bay.
So I do think she did it for the right reasons, but also as a F YOU to Bill for being the douchebag that he is.

well said BLR! and IMO you've hott he nail on the head.
Do you guys notice how uncomfortable / shaken Barb always looks after she confronts Bill on anything? It's a very difficult thing for her to do, b/c feeling alack of faith in him I think shakes her faith as a whole.

I was glad she went against Bill, but I am afraid it will be a bad move. I haven't seen this weeks episode yet and the teaser made it look like it was a bad call. I hope not for her sake. I want Barb to succeed on her own! I don't want Bill to win. I am so mad at him. He is very judgemental towards his wives (Nikki and Margene), but he wants everyone to just sweep what he does under a rug. Come on Barb don't let him off so easy!
