Maybe Alby and unseal himself from Lura and cast her into outer darkness. Or just re-assign her to Frank.

If Matt Ross doesn't at least get an Emmy nomination this year, I'll be surprised.
I was crying too when Alby discovered Dale hung himself, his grief was so real.

I think Alby will go to a place that he is familiar with...hate, deception, revenge and nasty deeds.
It's not going to be pretty. Lura is a marked target. Unless Alby has a use for her? To keep her quiet and not reveal any more information? I guess Lura really loved Alby.
Matt Ross (he plays Alby, right?) was excellent. The actor who plays Dale was also excellent. He really made you feel how he was suffering all those years.
I knew it was coming. His breakdown with the church people was pivital in his life. He was pretty much saying that he has tried everything and nothing works. Dale was out of ideas and at the end of his rope. And he hung himself with a rope.
I also thought the scene with Dale and the church leaders was very good. The Bishop was just so sure that Dale was chosing this and could be changed. Dale was just so sure it was just who he was and can't shake it. It was a 2 minutes scene that summed up the discussions/opinions we have in real life. It said a lot on both sides, ya know?

I knew when Alby opened the door that he was going to find something - either Dale dead or Lura or Dale's wife waiting for him.
Wonder what Lura said to Dale's wife? I hope she gets what she deserves.
I too think the whole issue with Dale and Alby was really acted out well and very believable.

I was also really moved. Like others, I didn't see it coming until he was in the hallway leaving a message and opened the door. Then both my husband and I said, "Oh shit!" at the same time.
I knew Dale as having a pivotal experience. I was hoping he was going to come out after his discussion with the LDS folks. Or, if not come out (not saying it is right, but plenty of people lead double lives because they find out something critical about themselves after their paths are already well set), at least embrace who he is.
My husband said, "I should have seen that coming." I said, "Yeah, me too... but I didn't!" It actually left me feeling a little bit guilty, the same way that that I'd feel if I knew someone who was reaching out for help like that and then committed suicide. Clearly he wasn't embracing himself with those church leaders, or with Bill - he was begging for someone to help him.
I hope Alby is able to recover, but I agree Lura is in a world of trouble now. I don't think she knows that Ably knows it's her doing, either.

Maybe this will bring Nikki and Alby even closer. After all, they have both lost their first loves - Dale for Alby; Ray for Nikki. And, at least to some extent, they both lost these people due to the mess they were raised in at Juniper Creek. Nikki told Alby that she loved him no matter what. I think she will be the one who really understands the loss he is feeling and she will be there for him. I really like when these two team up and I'm hoping that we will see more of it.

....and unseal himself from Lura and cast her into outer darkness. Or just re-assign her to Frank. LMAO! There was nothing funny about Dale's suicide, but the idea of reassigning Lura to nasty old Frank is perfect! A Fate Worse than Death. (Just ask Jodeen.)

That is a good point.
Nicki and Alby are really parallel at this point.
Alby found Dale. Nicki found Ray.
Neither could sustain the relationship they wanted due to their upbringing at Juniper Creek.

HAHAHA! YES! He could marry her off to Frank. Priceless! We all think about these poor compound women, but repression make for some mighty interesting characters. Jodeen and Lura in the same household, PLUS Bill's mom! Frank would have what he deserves!

The whole Alby/Dale relationship creeped me out. On Dale's part - he's got a huge ethics issue with have ANY sort of contact with Alby, let alone an affair. My husband's an attorney and one day his opposing counsel's client (the plaintiff) showed up at his law office. He was from another country and apparently not aware that he is strictly prohibited from doing this without his own lawyer present. The staff of the law office was frantically trying to get him to leave, which was complicated, as he spoke very little English and couldn't understand what they were telling him. Anyway - though I had some sympathy for Dale as a closeted Latter-Day Saint, which is hell, I had trouble taking him seriously as a lawyer for doing something like that.
On Alby's end - I've always though that Alby was just out for himself in everything he did, including this. I figured this was just a way for him to get info to keep the UEB assets. So I'm wondering, did he cry out of genuine love for Dale? Or was is the thought of losing the compound that caused the tears?

It was so emotional. The actors who play Alby and Dale are both fantastic. When Dale cried in Bill's car - it reminded me a lot of many Mormons I have known, both gay and straight who try desperately to honor their church's doctrine but come up short.
I cried when I saw Dale hanging. I knew it the second Alby walked down the hallway with flowers that Dale was dead. I think he's going to take it out on Lura and Bill. Not good. He should really be taking it out on the church.

I almost thought I would hear a shotgun when I heard the vase break on the floor...I suspected it was Lura in there and she had already shot Dale and was going to kill Alby.

Yeah I immediately thought someone had thunked Alby over the head. His wife saw the place, so that's where my head went. I thought I'd be sick when I saw him hanging there. The whole suicide thing gives me the heebie jeebies.

Alby had better hope that Lura has not told others in the compound about his homosexuality. If the news gets around, his days are numbered. Polygamists sects don’t take well to knowing that their leader is gay. Blood Atonement comes to mind.
