Glad I found this place!

I am so glad I found this message board! The HBO message board was a bit of a mess. I did a search on Google and found a yahoo link which led me here.

I have been a fan of "Big Love" since season 3. We didn't have HBO for seasons 1 and 2.

I am LDS, although a very liberal Mormon. LOL I have always detested polygamy. However, I have been intrigued by this show, and the acting is wonderful. There are so many of my favorite actors in the show that it is hard to resist.

When they did the temple scene last season, I know that the Church was really upset about it, but, I watched the scene, and actually found it to be very tastefully done.

I'm really enjoying this season. I feel for Margene; I really hope she leaves Bill, especially now that she is making money, and has a successful business.

I would like to see Bill fall flat on his face, and I think he is going to. I'm so upset with him for selling his partner out like that.

Anyway, I'm excited to be here. Everyone seems very friendly, and I'm enjoying discussing the show with everyone here!

Hey there Sis!

I'm LDS as well and while I wouldn't call myself liberal by any stretch, I think any Mormon woman who watches and enjoys the show would have to be open minded. Tolerant, shall we say, of other views of the world. I think the image of the church is quite stilted in the show, but I can see how it must look to non- members. Especially Utah culture. That's one of the things I get the biggest kick out of! Lived there for a while and I must say, I cannot exist as a Utah Mormon. They're a whole different breed. Anyway, glad I'm not the only member on the board, and glad I found it too!

I think we have atleast a few more LDS on the boards. I'm one of the non-members and what i saw on Big Love was about as much as i knew about the mormon religion. That said, at one point (even being completely ignorant on the subject) I began to question how on-target they were as far as a representing mormon majority. I did quite a bit of reading and found the history of your religion quite interesting.
Still, as for real life... I dont know anyone mormon so it's nice to have 'real life' LDs here on the boards to help keep the the record straight as far as the show goes
