OMG I never thought of wurks as our Nikki! Oh maybe he'll realize we love him. Ya'll are too funny. No, I'm not a Nikki at all. I've never been a manipulative schemer. My crime was usually only that I wouldn't say enough to satisfy peoples curiosities. I just can't help being a caviler curmudgeon. With but a few exceptions my worst offenses were when someone didn't understand the sardonic humor. Plural wives can be so sensitive sometimes. kwim? I don't recall ever getting into a flame war with you, rissmeek. If not then I'm sorry you missed all the fun of it. Unless you got swept up in my critical broad brush of hypocritical harpies. lol Maybe this is a good time to say some of what I've been thinking about it all. At first, being an insider so to speak, I was fairly defensive of all the wild-eyed conjecture and mis-informed media regurgited over- hyped public censure etc, etc. In truth, it has gotten so much worse there (on the "compound") that it does tend to make it hard to defend. One cannot defend what was right there without making it appear to also be defensive of what is/was wrong. But as the thing has all unfolded, I have seen a lot of peoples hearts become softened a little by Big Love (even people like Withay et, al) toward the lifestyle at least, minus the coercion and ignorance. And everyone knows that I never condoned the things that don't really represent the basic religious fundamentalist lifestyle, which does not include the things that has people up in arms over it. I have always felt that the really serious problems with polygamy, (especially the dishonesty) are not really unique to it but rather represent the same kinds of relationship problems universally. Nobody would want to see their biography written by their bitter ex, or enjoy seeing all their dirty laundry run up the flagpole. I won't deny that I have a patriarchal bent, as opposed to feminist, but what Bill said, "The love produces the faith, and not the other way around" has always been my position, even though I may have never expressed it so succinctly as that. Nobody wants to be (or stay) married to someone they do not love under any circumstance, be it status, wealth or duty. (the stuff of all the drama and novels) In other words, if the man; the patriarch is an insensitive selfish jerk then his marriage and relationship will go to hell sooner or later, and it works the same in polygamy as monogamy only maybe compounded. They can both be beautiful as well. It's always easier to see where everybody else has it all wrong than to see yourself clearly. Anyway, I won't go away mad. I'll just go away. kwim? lol It's been interesting and fun to follow this blog and get a better idea how "the other side" sees it all. I've made some good friends here (believe it or not)

Wurks, Don't misunderstand me here, I was not saying that you share Nicki's traits. Just that you are one of the folks here that some of us had difficulties (taking equal blame here) getting along with even though we liked you.
