I've always thought they would end up there, minus Barb. No matter how much she loves Bill and the rest of her family, her heart has never truly been in favor of polygamy. And there is no way the compound folk would ever accept a woman priesthood holder.

"how it should be run"?! I'm baffled by people here. They actually seem to support polygamy! There is no right way to run a polygamist compound. None. I honestly don't see polygamy as wrong as long as it's practiced between consenting adults.

First of all, Bill's wives are not "victims". They ALL talk back to Bill and argue and at least half of the time get their way--just like a "normal" marriage. These women are not afraid of him.
As far as Bill and JC I think that would be the obvious way to end the show. It could happen. It's a very good theory....I just don't know if the wives would be happy all the way out there.
As someone said in another post--the ending will be a bit ambiguous. We will know they stay together--but I'm not 100% sure if we are going to know *where* or *how* this happens.
But again, that's HBO programming....it's sort of like an independent film where YOU have to decide what happens. This is no Sex and the City. We are not going to get a definate ending. At least I don't think so...there are too many loose ends that cannot be wrapped up in an hour.
I can't remember but didn't the Soprano's have a 2 hour season finale? I think 2 hours might give us a bit more justice.

CoraLee: re: Bill's wives not being victims, could not agree more! re: the ending of HBO shows: someone here mentioned that Six Feet Under wrapped up pretty well with a "flash-forward" to let us see what happens to all the characters in the future ... maybe BL will do something similar ... ?

I've said from the beginning that I thought Bill would end up back at the compound with all of his wives, and recently that I thought the Senate storyline was what would drive them there, but now I'm not to sure. It seems as though the writers are going in that direction, but I don't think they'll have enough time to do it properly. There's too many loose ends that need tying in the finale for them to pull this off, in my opinion.

What I find so interesting about Big Love is that it really opens up a dialog & that we all have such widely different views to express. We've been told that we will be happy with the way that it ends, but it's obvious that not everyone will be. I, personally, would enjoy seeing Bill end up back at Juniper Creek. To come full circle from being a "lost boy" to being a prophet. Clearly, there are others that just plain want to see the family fall apart and / or for Bill to be monogamous. I think that I would be the least happy about that outcome. I realize that some of you are anti-polygamy, but when is a family disentegrating ever a good thing?
And on a side note: I strongly feel that the Henrickson women are NOT victims in the traditional sense of the word. If anything, women benefit from polygamy and the man that has multiple wives is closer to the being a victim. I am a female & I think that if it were not a felony that I might consider adding another wife. My husband on the other hand, well, he's pretty sure that that sounds like torture.

I'm almost wondering if what Margene and Bill talked about was a foreshadow of what's to come....they'll end up on a 'family mission' but maybe it will be a mission of turning Juniper Creek into a safe Haven. Bill did say that he would find a way to keep Safety Net going.

Yep. But I wonder how Don Embry's character ends up. I think Ben and Heather will get together. I think Lois is going to go to the Celestial Kingdom

I think that those who said that the family will wind up at Juniper Creek with Bill the new prophet are probably right. But, for me Juniper Creek is a step backward because the family will be separate from the community that they live in now. They have lovely homes, their children go to school, they can mingle with other people etc. I guess over time Juniper Creek can be built into a modern place where people of all walks of life can live in and not be a isolated Mormon community. But that would negate the purpose of a Juniper Creek where all are Mormons and practice the principle.

I don't think we support polygamy. This is a fantasy for us. The Henricksons are polygamists and we are fans of the show. I think we are really invested in "the characters" and we think Bill's character would be happy as the leader of the Juniper Creek compound. I could NEVER be a polygamist. But this is just fantasy.
