I was just posting something in relationt o margene on another thread and it brought back to mind a scene last season that really got me. So I wondered if there have been any scenes on the show that have really grabbed your heart / played on your emotions?
For me, I had a couple heart wrenching scenes last season.
After Margenes mom died and she had such a hard time dealing / trying not to deal .... i could relate on a personal level. So the climatic scene when her moms urn of ashes falls off the car's roof , and margene is standing there watching her ashes blow away and says " you guys my mom is gone" really got me. I was litterally bawling on that one. Between knowing what that feeling is like (the true realization) and the visual of her mom just kind of being dust in the wind.... it was too much for me.
I also got misty when they went to mount cummora ? (sorry can tthink of the name) and everyone is just miserable, completely not in to it etc. Bill is sitting there by himself praying " please heavenly father give me a sign, show yourself ot me"etc and behind him the angel rises up.... but he never looks back. I just thought that kind of poetic- and fitting.
any scenes in particular ever really get you in the gut? or am i just a big softie ? lol

Both of those that you brought are great. Definitely made me feel the same way.
Another scene that really got me was the one where Sarah is in the bathroom, and Nicki opens the door and asks her what's wrong, and Sarah says, "I'm losing my baby" or something like that. I definitely teared up during that one! Also, when they were driving home, and they all pulled over and Sarah told them. That part didn't get me nearly as much as the bathroom scene, though.

a crazy scene that kinda grabbed me was joey and bill's conversation toward the end of season 3 where bill eventually fell in the barn and was looking up into outer space (stars). the conversation between the brothers was emotional and heartfelt and that scene ended up in a very good and reflective way. i thought that was an emotional scene. didn't make me cry, it just was very involved and emotional.

Sarah losing her baby (both scenes) made me cry for sure.
Kathy's death made me cry. Then the scene afterwards where Lois and Wanda were talking and Wanda admitted wishing Kathy dead...But was so heartbroken she really was dead and didn't mean it...That also got me.
When Nikki found herself in the joybook and was crying on Ray's shoulder...That was really sad.
I think I'm just a big crybaby.
lmfao!

"you're a monogamist" (with Barb and Joey in the backyard on Easter)
"My mom's gone."
"God took my baby away from me, to punish me, for being bad."
"This is my daughter" (that Velvet Underground song was just perfect for that scene. I get choked up just thinking about it)
Bill's speech on Mt. Cumorah (the music helped)
"Because of you I wake up joyful" (a happy scene but an emotional one nonetheless)

Another one I thought of was when Barb went to temple with her mother & sister, she told them she was ex-communicated from the church. They were all crying, that one got to me also.

This wasn't a sad emotional scene, but I still think it was emotional and incredibly well done.
Anyway, it's the scene in the last episode where Wanda and Joey are lying in bed, and Joey asks Wanda what she dreams about, and she talks about the yellow house (any size!) with rocking chairs. I thought it was so sweet. Those two are by far my favourite couple on this show, and that scene just intensified my love for the two of them. So well done!

Agreed about Barb at the temple and Joey and Wanda in bed talking about their yellow house.
I also started to tear up last night when Sarah realized her holding onto that child was more about the baby she lost.

Last episode of season one - They have been outed as polygamists. Barb is horribly upset and in her bedroom. Nikki walks in. Barb looks at her and says, "I got what I deserved." Nikki looks back at her with emotional eyes and goes, "Oh boss lady...." Barb breaks down and Margene and Nikki comfort her.
Sara losing her baby is also incredibly emotional. Amanda Seyfried played that so perfectly.
Last night's scene where Margene broke down on camera talking about how her husband abandoned her was also very touching.... mostly because I felt that she was really feeling abandoned.

Yeah my heart broke for Margene...
I don't think Bill or anyone knows the approach she was going to take. I think humiliating herself on T.V. like that may also have ruined her career with Bev.

I forgot about the scene of Margene on television talking about being abandoned. That's was very emotional, and I think that's how she really feels. I wish Bill was watching that and realized the significance of her words, but I don't think he cares enough about her career to take the time.
