Don't get me wrong... Amanda Seyfried is great as Sarah... I don't think she should leave.
No offense to her...But I thought Mama Mia sucked. If I were her I wouldn't base my career direction on just ONE movie.
Personally I think her leaving Big Love and going out trying to be a hit actress is career suicide.
Just look at Lindsay Fonseca... She did the same thing with Y&R...Thought she had a huge movie career ahead of her...Did a lifetime movie nobody cared about and went without work for years until she landed a recurring role on Big Love.

She has another movie coming out feb 5th called "Dear John"- by the same peeps who did "The Notebook" .... so it could be a box office success.
As fars box office success goes... "mama mia" was the highest grossing musical of all time, so not surprising to me that it started her in the direction of leaving the show / pursueing other options. You gotta strike while the iron's hot. ya know?
Personally I would rather have seen her stay onthe show and pursue the big screen as well. why not do both? It's a gambe to leave that's for sure.

I know mama mia was a huge success... If I were her though, I would have persued both as you suggested. I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket.
There are many actors and actresses who have a huge hit movie and base their whole career on it and then kinda just fade away. I hope she does well...I wish her the best...I just am not convinced she is big screen material.

Wish her the best as well....
But my guess is she'll have moderate though temporary success. I dont think she'll instantly become an "a" list actor, and i dont think her attitude about leaving the show that mde her famous was very good. seemed kinda bratty to me.

Yeah that isn't exactly going to look good on her resume... "I quit cause they didn't let me do what I wanted". LOL.
Not to mention (please do correct me if I'm wrong) but she was kind of a nobody before Big Love wasn't she? I certainly don't recall knowing of her before the show.

Because I made the comparison...
I know she has had a career since her stint on The Young And The Restless...But she thought she was going to become an A list actress and that just didn't happen.
I had made the comparison that Amanda Seyfried will likely wind up in the same boat.
I will gladly eat my words if I am wrong...I don't think she's a bad actress or anything. Both ladies are very good in my opinion...

I like both actresses too but I don't remember Amanda before BL, I don't think I've seen "Mean Girls" but I'm a faithful ATWT watcher and don't remember her as Lucy.
Lyndsey hasn't had much luck since leaving Y&R. Her role on HIMYM amounts to a few minutes, at most, each episode and you have to know it's her otherwise you can't tell.

I think Amanda Seyfriend should've stayed on Big Love too. She would've learned so much working with the other actors and actresses on the show. I didn't care for Mama Mia at all either. Dear John was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
