Yeah I'm really bummed over it too. Makes me sad. I wish they would have gone longer with this show.

HBO gave the Sopranos six seasons and even that was too short. Selfishly, I would like for Big Love to go on until it burns itself out. Can't say that I care about their supposed new blockbuster, Boardwalk Empire. If you all like it, that's good. It just doesn't get to me the way BL does. I guess I like to laugh at the foibles of people. I have been watching BL on demand from the beginning and catching all the little jokes the writers sneak in.
I love Wanda and Joey, Lois is a riot especially vs. Frank. Poor Alby, his true love found swinging from the rafters. Alby's wife is a mean piece of work, isn't she? Love Mary Kay Place's role. She was fabulous as the newly pregnant wife of the dearly departed JayJay. Well, she's just plain fabulous. Then, there's the long-suffering, quietly womanizing Don. What the heck is new for that guy? Am I correct in thinking that two of his wives are gay and ran away from him? And, of course, they have a real gem in Harry Dean Stanton. Keeping him on as a ghost is genious. And, I must say, I'd love to see that litttle Rhonda again. That girl deserves an Emmy. Maybe she could come back, a whole lot wiser, and run away with Ben. Wheeeee!
I hope I put these comments in the correct place. Administrator, if you think it should be moved, please do move it. Thanks, guys.

Hi Bonnie--I don't think Don's wives are gay--I just think they had enough of the lifestyle. If you read about modern polygamy there are a lot of wives who get out or want to get out. I think it's just a sign of the times.
As far as Boardwalk Empire--I love American History so this is very interesting to me. I also love Steve Buscemi no matter how many people say he is "miscast". I also love Atlantic City (rather be there than Vegas anyday) so it's just interesting. Maybe you can watch it considering the historical value and enjoy it a little more. I had no idea that in the 1920's that people could just kill other people in broad daylight and not go to jail! It's a bit interesting, but not as interesting as Big Love!
I learn so much from these series as far as history because I research on the Internet when I question something. I now know a lot about polygamy and about prohibition. I'm not sure what it's worth, but I think any knowledge about anything is valuable.

On the gay thing with the wives. There was a very old episode with Don's family playing cards at Barb's house, they had 2 or 3 tables going with cards being played. Those 2 wives were playing footsie under the table. One was carressing the others leg with her toe. Gay or not, there was something intimitate going on.

I remember this, one was stroking the others leg with her shoe off. When they ran off, I def. though it was to be a couple.

Yeah, that footsie thing was kinda odd for two women who are heterosexual, at least that's what I think, but what do I know? ;D
When they left, didn't Don say something like "they only care about eachother"
I think there was some sort of relationship going on with those two.

You are right about the footsie under the table. That's what planted the idea in my head about the two of them.
As far as Boardwalk Empire goes, I know me and I know I will begin to get interested in it next season. Same as I did with True Blood and Big Love. It'll be my usual ... kick myself for not watching from the very beginning. Thank goodness for On Demand.
Corajack, you're a smart woman. Here you are, doing historical research for your own knowledge and pleasure. I'll bet you could talk circles around most people. I admire that.
Pretty soon this board will be abuzz. Fun!
Everyone, have a great new year, Bonnie

Also, when Don was planning on taking a 4th wife, they "unselfishly" (Don's words) volunteered to share a room. Hmmmm.
