BigLoveRocks, I liked Bill in season 1 too. I am looking forward to watching all of the seasons again on DVD. Off the top of my head I would have to say it started to really go down hill with weber gambling. I love Big Love. I miss Roman. Roman was wrong but I found him entertaining. JJ does not say anything or does anything that is entertaining. Also, I remember laughing a great deal more in earlier seasons.

I actually think we got three seasons that were heavy on character development. despite the changes that are taking place for all, i do feel like we know them. So, while i do hope we get back to that a little next season i dont think it's been lacking up til now. I'm not confused as to why it's so frustrating to watch the wives go along with all bill's bs. I'm pretty clear on that lol I just find it kind of hypocrital of myself to then feel touched when sarah (more or less) does the same. I didnt feel the way i do now abotu bil until this season... though it's been a fight not to for longer. I really liked Bill early on. I respected his beleifs (thought hey differ form mine) b/c he stood true to them, led a faith based life, etc. I saw him as being all about his family and his faith. At some point though Bill got too wrapped up in Bill.... and it's been downhill ever since for me. I have lmao this season - although i'm not sure all the laughter has been at appropriate moments / scenes LOL Basically i just find all the over the top moments and fruit loops funny. Gosh, i hope we're suppose to... b/c i cant seem to make myself take them seriously. lol Nicki probaby garners the most LOL moments from me.

This was not a very interesting story-line. We know the actress is leaving the series, so it wasn't hard to figure that she was going to leave Utah. I agree, I think Sarah wanted a clean break and she keeps getting sucked back in, similiar to what Bill said in the previous episode. I think Sarah loves her family but it's time for her to move on and grow up with Scott. I bet Scott and Sarah will be just fine.

Remember the conversation between Nikki and Barb beside the pool when Nikki told Barb that she did not believe that a marriage based on love could last. Nikki said, "I didn't marry for love, I married for the principle." After her infatuation with Ray, she told Margene she didn't know whether she loved Bill or not. I believe that was a sincere statement. Her flirtation with Ray opened her to the possibility of love, and she realizes that she loves Bill. I don't find it frustrating that the wives support Bill. I think that's the core dynamic of the show.

From season one sarah has been against what her family belives. she loves her whole family she does-but she does not share the belivs that they do-before Nikki sarah spent about 10 to 12 years of her life in a two parent house hold watching her mom get her dad-ben got dad..baby tancy and sarah got dad.
Then in comes nikkie and they have to share....then comes wayne....then raymond...then coms margene...aaron....lester....and then nell
so now-all sarah got when she lived at home was her dad the one or two nights a week Barb had him plus family home night-which is propaly what Ben meant about her still looking at bill lik she did at 13-thats around the time wayn was born and around the time she had to get used to...no sarah this is wayne and nikki night with your dad-you have to wait
sarah wants a family where its one mom...one dad....kids dont have to wait for dad caus its not their moms night. Sarah also doesnt want to be a part of what happens when Bill outs them-sarah got dragged into this...she never agreed to this kind of life so why in the world should she stay in sandy and suffer through her family being outed as a part of bills next big thing?
so I dont see anything wrong with sarah liveing and I dont think Bill has a right to get upset with her-he dragged his 10 to 12 year old daughter into a type of family where she lost time with dad and had to adjust to all this 'shareing' the least Bill can do is let her go to Portlan with a hug, an i love you and an understanding where shes comeing from IMO.

One thing that has become really tiresome to me this season is how Bill gets mad, makes judgement on the person and then "freezes" them out. He then comes around, asks for forgiveness and all is well. Argh. I guess all of these issues wrap up so nice and neatly because of the timeframe the writers have for this season.
My husband doesn't watch the show that often, but he saw the ending of the episode from last week and asked what happened with the Hollis story line this week. I told him it was a big rollercoaster this season and you just had to hang on and hope you find out something later.

I wish Sara's announcement had more substance to it. Compared to all of the other bizarre things going on in Big Love, her "surprise" just wasn't up to par.
The writers could have at least made it a little more juicy. For instance, she could have been pregnant again, or adopted the Native American baby, or decided to go away to college....something. It just seems like she is moving away for nothing (I know she said Scott got a job there, but who cares?). It just felt really bland and stupid.

Yeah I want Ben to elaborate more on the comment he made to Sarah about how she viewed her father when she was 13. Hello? I peeped that too. I also think he bought/guilted her into showing up for that interview, he may have wrapped it in "fatherly concern" but I feel he knew or hoped that once he gave her that check and packed a few things, she would show. He needed her to be there so he basically took care of it, like he does eveything else. imo

see, i kind of liked it just for that reason - b/c it wasn't all hyper-drama and major plot twists. I've had enough of that this season. I liked that it was done kind of simply, and that the main focus was feeling rather than action. I miss that aspect of the show in relation to the other characters this season.
I actually got all misty when she had her little moment holding the cake, looking out the window at her family - who she loves but can't agree with belief wise. To me if was about more than her moving away to portland, ti was about her moving away from them period - starting he rown life and feeling bitter sweet about the seperateness that will create between her and her family.
