So she's moving to Oregan... Anyone else feel like a bigger deal was made out of this than necessary? Maybe it is just me.

I agree....more wasted time. Where was Joey, Frank, and Lois? Why no word on Hollace?

I google mapped it. It is a 12 hour drive from Sandy, UT to Portland. It runs right through Idaho.
It is probably a half hour plane ride. Man up, people.
She isn't moving to Buenas Aries. "What will you do in Argentina, Sarah? What if there is a Junta? Also, Sarah, they tango. In public."

Yeah they made a pretty big deal about it as if Sarah was going to announce she was preggers or sick or something... But her talking of moving away was SO last season... Why the need to replay that tired storyline again?

The writers were too busy toking it up to get the teether ball scene they couldn't figure out what to do with this so they just re-ran last years storyline.

Yes, I agree with all of you. I would have rather seen the attention spent on the reaction of Sarah moving to heroin filled Oregon spent on another story line. Maybe everyone in the family was let down (or jealous) that Sarah has found a way to escape the chaos of the family coming out.
Bill was very generous with Sarah giving her 5,000 dollars and then saying "I just wish it could be more." I know that they have Home Plus and The Casino bringing in money. Of course, Margene's business has been a success. Still, I am very impressed with all of the things that The Hendricksons are able to do financially. I know it is a show, but The Hendricksons must be doing something right. They run three households, a campaign, Home Plus (which is more than one store), the casino, and have several children.
I don't know, at this point I think Sarah should stand with her family and the outcome to Bill's political endeavor. I have always gotten the impression that the children are very important to Bill and the wives. They always seem to try to do the best for their children.
I know Sarah has hinted around as to why she does not agree with Bill's choice to lead the family into the principal. I would like to know how Bill's choice to do that so adversely affected her that she wants out. Is Sarah just being selfish because she knows that it is going to be hard when they come out? Or has what Sarah seen what living the principal has done to her family, and, from Sarah's viewpoint living the principal is demeaning and she wants no parts of it?

Yeah I want Ben to elaborate more on the comment he made to Sarah about how she viewed her father when she was 13.

I think it is fair to say that Sarah has seeen the attention that is given to her mother and Ben, Teeny and Sarah decrease tremendously since Bill decided to embrace the principle. She does not believe in it and has been the butt of jokes at school and work. She no longer wants to live her life in secret and has the opportunity to do this and do it with a man she loves. Since family is so important to LDS and FLDS families, I doubt they often move away from each other. That is why such a big deal is being made of this. Barb and Bill know that they will see their daughter once or twice a year, if that.

Does anyone know how Scott grew up? I remember (or think I remember) Scott and Sarah meeting at a support group meeting for children of polygamist families.
Sarah and her friend made plans to go off to college together. Which I think would have been the better choice for Sarah. If Sarah wants to live her own life then she should have a college education. Plus Sarah and her friend for the most part always seemed to have a good time together.
If Sarah was my daughter, I don't think that I would have wanted her to marry Scott. He is several years older (right?). If Scott loves Sarah so much and wants the best for her then why couldn't Scott move to where Sarah and her friend were going to college so that Sarah could go to college. I have never seen Scott try to make a connection with Sarah's family to try to understand the place where Sarah comes from. If Scott would have been at Teeny's Birthday Party then Scott could have seen the quilt that Nikki made. That quilt meant a great deal and was both a special and loving present. Scott could have seen Sarah's family when she was looking at them as she was carrying in her cake.
Does anyone know what Sarah is doing now? Is Sarah in college?
Sarah is young and I wish that she would have gone off to college with her friend. In my opinion that would have been the best way for Sarah to grow and learn about the world.

Sarah and Scott met at a meeting for former LDS members. His family is not polygamist. And Scott did volunteer to move to the state that Sarah wanted to go to school in but Sarah said no and broke up with him. That was when she was pregnant, though. I understand why Sarah feels she needs to move in order to break away from her family. I did something similar at her age, though I went to school in the new city also. I just felt so sucked in by my family's disfunction that I believed I would never be able to break away without some miles between us. I suspect Sarah will end up in school in the new city.

Can someone please explain to me that why it is that I get so frustrated with the wives standing by their hypocritcal man - but i was sort of touched that sarah showed up to be on the tv show with them?
i mean when it comes to the wives, the must frustrating thing to me is that they "go along with" what they're not feeling themsleves- but with sarah and bill , it just hits a soft spot for me I guess. I was glad that she showed up for them, and especially bill.
i cant make sense of my own feelings on this though lol

Withay, it sounds as though you many have a unique insight into Sarah's character. I like Sarah and want the best for her. I want the best for all of the characters. I have posted before that their lives in my opinion unravelled when Barb became ill. That's why I so want to hear the wives tell their perspectives. I want the wives to get together and tell how they feel about each other, about themselves, about Bill. I want Barb to tell how she felt when Nikki and Bill were sealed, and, why she agreed to this. When Nikki and Bill became sealed it changed their entire life especially Barb's.
JJ77 and Big Love Rocks, I cannot explain why it is so frustrating to watch the wives stand by Bill. When I first started Big Love I did not dislike Bill. I was intrigued with their family. I never expected to dislike Bill. In the beginning, I found it interesting when the wives were at their meetings going over schedules and things such as that. I think that there is more to all of the wives than we know or that can be put into one hour with all of the story lines going on. My guess is that Nikki only knows the principal. Now we know that Nikki loves Bill and something such as "I am doing this because I love Bill" and "I love Bill more than you two (Barb & Margene). Nikki character growth has been amazing. I always believed that the show would end with Nikki and Bill at Juniper Creek (or starting their own compound) with Bill as the prophet. Nicki said to Bill tonight that she does not want to share Bill any longer. Nikki ended saying something like of course their is Barb and Margene (with Margene I detected a little eye roll from Nikki when she said Margnes name. I think that Barb has to stand by Bill because clearly she is medicating herself therefore numbing the pain of Bill and his betrayals, just joking! I think that Barb is standing by Bill because if she does not she would have to admit that allowing herself and her children start down the path of polygamy when Bill and Nikki were sealed was a huge mistake. We see that Barb is very hard on herself. With everything going wrong in their family, I am certain that Barb does has regrets about the choice she made about deciding to live the principal. I am not sure why she decided to do so because she grew up in a household where polygamy was bad. Also, Bill's past at Juniper Creek left him damaged. Nikki told Alby that their upbringing caused harm to them and begged Alby to leave with her. Margene was and is still very young. I think that Margene always wanted a family and found one with Bill, Barb, and Nikki. Margene has always seemed to me to try really hard to befriend and get close to Nikki and Barb. That has not happened, in my opinion. I do not have any of the answers. I think all of the wives are going through so much, and, as hard as it is for them they are trying to stay true to the principal and being together in the after life.
It does seem as though all of the wives are questioning why they choose to stand by Bill in their own way. They are making decisions on their own. Nikki slapped Bill saying "I gave you my heart" when she found out about Joey killing her father. Adaleen even seems to be seeing that she is not in a good position.
Sarah is Bill's daughter. I do believe that all of the children are very much loved. Bill went to Sarah and gave her five thousand dollars for her and Scott to start off in Oregon. Also, I think Sarah does some of the things she does because she sees how upset her dad's behaviors and choices upset her mom.
JJ77 and Big Love Rocks, it is hard to answer the question why is it so frustrating when the wives stand by their hypocritical man but touched when Sarah showed up. Hopefully, we will get some answers and some real insight into the characters next season. Perhaps Barb, Nikki and Margene make the choice to stay with Bill because they do not want to break their family up. I believe Bill wants the family kept together too.
How did everyone feel about Bill in season 1?
