I was thinking about the log cabin - polished and painted on the outside, and inside just a bunch of 2x4s nailed together, with curtains stapled up.
It said a lot about Bill, I think. Slick and smooth on the outside, and a mess inside. The same with his life.
Anybody noticed any other symbols?

Margene having to wear that elephant costume...
She has to hide her true identity.

Sara and Scott's marriage/relationship
I think it's a reflection of what Barb and Bill used to be.

Margene having to wear that elephant costume... She has to hide her true identity. And also it symbolizes how they're not paying attention to the "2-ton Elephant in the room" i.e., they're too concerned about little stupid matters and don't pay attention to the obvious ones.

This is from last season but I think we are still feeling the effects of it.
Anna leaving, showed the other 3 that they had/have choices in their lives they may not have realized they did.

I'm going to repeat from the "New Opening" post...
All of them falling into the "outer darkness" Bill feared so much. Also when Margie is pushed back, its like she is being pushed out of the family (maybe just leave, but the look on her face maybe die)
And i think Alby's Turkey Tetrazini maybe be a pop-culture shoutout to the "chicken tetrazini" thing on The Soup which my mom and I totally got lol

Oh Lord... the show is full of symbolism IMO. Random one that struck me this last episode:
Margene "reaching for something" (cocoa) and then after being honest ("It did mean something") Ben helping her to get what she was after. (cocoa?anyone? lol)

Don looking on as Bill was talking to the crowd. He was probably thinking, I took the bullet for you my friend; where does that leave me & my family. Betrayal personified.

The children, especially Teeny marching up on the stage & waving at everyone. While she is the child in this poly family; but standing up for her father in this family mascarade show. And then rat-ing on Ben's letter written to Margene; yet the portrayal is anything but being honest.

The two hats that Bill has represent the two crowns he might get: The prophet's and the senator's

I wonder why sarah wasn't up on stage with Teeny and Ben....is it becasue she doesn't support her family? she was in the crowd...

I think Bill asking Don to "take the bullet" will have another meaning somehow.

I wonder why sarah wasn't up on stage with Teeny and Ben....is it becasue she doesn't support her family? she was in the crowd... I think the message there was that she is now a married woman and "answers" to her husband, not her father.
