Yes, I've read about the bee-hive w/Mormon culture. Their store out here has a bee-hive symbol on the sign plus I've noticed it at other places here around town.
I can imagine the SF is a culture shock. Plays also have a deep rooted history within the M's. BY was big on plays, all of the children & wives participated. They had a theatre where they practiced & perfomed. Even in today's society, the plays go on, with dance & songs also being of importance.
