Yeah the whole fingernails thing does it for me, the show is definitely trying to copycat the Kingstons with JJ's clan.

I rewatched the episode last nite, and when Nikki goes to JJ's son the doctor she asks him if there is anything he can do without doing any procedures or counseling...
So it appears she doesn't want to try invitro or anything else.

I was under the impression she didn't want any counselling or procedures for further diagnostic purposes, she was hoping it wouldn't take counselling/discussion or any procedures for the doctor to figure out exactly what was needed treatment wise; as opposed to counselling for invitro or anything similar. Maybe she was thinking Bill would as a matter of routine need to be tested as well and obviously she wants to avoid that...

That could be Soph, I didn't think about that.
I was thinking perhaps it was something to do with her religion, not wanting to do it with procedures... Kind of like how birth control is a big no no.
Now that I reflect, I think you are right though.
