So I did a quick search of "blood atonement" as I am Catholic and understand atonement. Boy was I wrong about the definition the context of Mormonism. Here is an article that really explains the concept : www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/mountainmeadows/atonement.htmlBasically the article talks about how Young instituted and preached "blood atonement" for those sins that cannot be forgiven. He basically sanctioned murders. (Later this was dropped by LDS because of its obvious violence.) I really think this may have something to do with Alby. Either, that he sanctions a murder(as he is prophet) or Bill(the real prophet) sanctions the murder of Alby.

Hi I hope they don't kill Jodean; I remember the writers saying they gave Kathy a twin because they felt her character had done all she could do really; but they gave her a twin so Mireille Enos could continue being in the show, would be a bit pointless then for Jodean to just be a bit part player and then get shot halfway through the next series. I personally think they want to get more out of Jodean's character yet... Sophie I think this is spot on. She's a great character to build on.

I hope the atonement is Alby offing himself. I cringe every time he gets on that TV screen! But I've got to think there's too much going on with the trust to kill him off just yet.

I don't see Lois, Frank, or Ben getting killed. For some reason, the writers have decided that Bill is superman and he will be the one to save the day. I figure it has to be the bird guy who was shot.

I don't think Selma is shooting at Kathy - remember when they returned to see the Bird Guy, Frank said something like "El translator-o is in the car-o" so she wasn't in the market with them when the Greens grabbed the three of them.

No, I was wrong about Kathy not being along with Ben, Lois and Frank, I just looked at the preview and she's lined up on a wall with the rest of them.
Too bad, I was hoping it was Kathy's big chance to get away from Frank.

By saying "You're not going to take away my womanhood too", maybe Adalene was trying to get Nikki to NOT get pregnant for some reason? Some scheme? Adalene can not be pregnant. She's at least 50! I really hope that's not the plot, although it would add some significant drama. Early menopause....that's an idea.
Lois probably does get shot. I don't like it, but I bet y'all are right. Darn it.

Wild guess: maybe by womanhood Nicki is referring to her ability to care for Cara Lynn as a mother rather than having Adaleen take her to the compound to be as she put it in the last episode "one of her mothers." Or maybe it's just a way of having her say stay out of my adult life, you messed up my childhood enough.
I missed Nicki's having hot flashes in the casino, but if the writers have her go through early menopause, I would really think this is another post headed for the Jump the Shark thread. Too convenient a plot device.

I still like the idea of Adaleen knocked up - imagine her whining and sniveling her way through it with Nikki seriously PO'd.

Meant to add that I still think it is Lois who is shot.
Although, for some time I have wondered at the ramifications if Ben were to die - could Barb EVER forgive him?

but Ben was flinching at the shots . . . so he isn't the one getting shot at.
the shooting looked really angry to me, as opposed to calculated. I wonder if Selma was shooting at one of the Greens who let Lois or Jodeen escape or something??

Dish Network's recap gives us some tantalizing tidbits...
"Bill makes an emergency trip to Mexico. Nicki is shocked by a doctor's news. Margene tries to keep Ana from leaving the country."
I can't wait for Sunday!
How many episodes are left? 2?

Blood Atonement?
Made me think of Joey actually. He has commited the sort of sin described in the link posted by jrose. As has Alby of course.
But maybe it is Bill who has transgressed? From what I've read in forums and blogs, most viewers think Bill is acting like a royal tool this season. Maybe he is about to be punished?
But I think the most likely is that Lois is shot. Her recently happiness seemed too good to be true, as does her husband's almost loving expression!!!
Maybe Nikki will have a multiple birth???
Maybe the taking away my womanhood statement was like- you've taken my childhood, you're not taking my womanhood too.
I can't wait to see how Cara Lynn's attitude might have changed now- maybe she will be more understanding of her mother?
I can't see Barb forgiving Bill too quickly for Ben being in this situation thanks to Bill handling his family affairs poorly. Maybe she'll be upset enough to turn to a certain hot native american man...
OOOOOOOOOO can't wait!!

what do you think the episode synopsis means?
" Nicki is shocked by news from her doctor?"
Even though she seem to be holding a pregnancy test... or some other pee stick type test... I doubt that the news of being pregnant (when she has been trying to conceive) would exactly quilfy as a "shock". Could it be a multiple thing ? (twins, triplets, etc?) or maybe early menopause? or some STD bill brought back to her from Ana ? lol
"Margene tries to keep Ana from leaving the country." I know most everyone thinks either ana or her fiance are trying to scam bill. But if that be the case why would she be trying to leave the country? More relevant though why would margene try to stop her? And how do you think she proposes they "work together"?
I think Ana may be afraid of having her unborn child wrapped up in some custody battle / drama. she says in the preview she does not trust barb and doesnt want any trouble. Maybe this eludes to all barb's "my/ our baby" comments... if we found them creepy imagine how ana must feel about them. lol maybe in view of all that she decides just to leave town / the country... as the case seems to be. (?)
