I have liked his character most of the time since he arrived on the show (except for the episode where he was cheating on Sara). I really enjoyed his character yesterday. He was kind and compassionate - very understanding of what Sara was going through. I saw him in a great supportive role.
I was wondering how others felt about him this season.

I thought it was interesting how they juxtaposed Bill, Barb and Scott in that scene. While Bill and Barb went in telling Sarah what to do, not asking her why she was doing it, and trying to cover their own asses, Scott pulled her aside and listened to why she was really doing it and promised to be there for her. Very different ways of handling the situation!

I applaud Scott for standing up to Bill/Barb in this situation involving Sarah. He was very tender with her & had an ear for her. I loved when he told Bill, we do not handle things this way.

I thought the scene really showed that Barb & Bill were no longer in charge. "We don't do things like that." Was just the perfect comment to say you don't run our lives anymore.

Good job Scott! I really haven't had feelings for him one way or another until last night. The looks on her parent's faces was great! This is how a relationship should be.

I too, was not a Scott fan until now. Scott seems to be providing the love and support as her husband that Bill was never able to give to Sarah as her father. Does that make sense?

I wasn't a Scott fan either, until the last episode. Hooray Scott! I thought he handled the situation very well.

Not a Scott fan either but he was good! He made Bill and Barb look like the idiots that they are (and I say that lovingly because I love the show and characters) ;D No wonder Sarah couldn't wait to get out of there. The scene just highlighted it for everyone.

I really wasnt anti / pro scott... in truth i just didnt see his character as interesting enough to feel either way about him. His relevance on the show pretty much just amounted to a living prop for Sarah to show / express her anti-poly views, etc. - or atleast thats how I viewed him.
Curious though why so many of you didnt like him to start with?

Curious though why so many of you didnt like him to start with? I didn't like Scott because of what a hypocrite he was being... He knew Sarah was trying to escape her horror of living in polygamy...As they met in an anti polygamy group/anti mormon...Something like that. He knew she was young and even after he found out she was underage he still slept with her and then hid from her the fact he was seeing other women and sleeping with them too... Then Sarah, desperate...Agrees to share him, as that is what she's seen her mother do with her father. It was truly sad to watch her settle for that. I am not sure at what point he decided he only wanted to fuck Sarah and nobody else...But he had a lot of balls coming down on Bill when he was doing the same exact thing to Sarah. So that is why I have never liked Scott.

To be fair, they weren't sleeping together when Sarah found out he was sleeping with other women. It caused a fight when she found out and he said that he didn't want to have to take responsibility for her virginity. Finally, Sarah agreed to continue seeing him, but not sleep with him, and he could sleep with other girls. However, when the two of them did sleep together, he became monogamous.

Thats right southernsong, I had gotten it mixed up.
Still... I think her having to share him with other women was terrible.

I kinda thought he was cheesy. He was a little devious... He seems to have pulled himself together now. Like we all do. Guess our Scott grew up a bit. ;D

I didn't have an opinion on Scott before, but now I really love him. I think Scott is just what Sarah needed, someone to lean on, someone who cares about her and her feelings. Not at all like her parents, who just wanted to protect their business.
I loved it when Bill asks him to order Sarah to give up the baby and he calmly answers that they don't have that kind of marriage. It was like saying "I'm not like you, I do care about my wife's feelings and thoughts"
