Bill is mad at Ben because he is Jealous of him. THis is the worse I have seen him. I guess you guys are right. He is being like Frank but just a little more reserved about it. Being mad at Ben is crazy. He is just a boy and his son no less. And I have been thinking about Marge's melt down. Poor girl. I wonder what Bill will say if he catchs wind of that. But you know he could give a you know what less about marges business as long as her money goes in the common pot so he probally wont find out at all. I hope that she leaves him. And I am going to Guess that Ben will end up with his sister??? Or could you imagine if he goes to Barb's sisters or her mothers....And tells them what happened??? THat could be interesting. WHat type of family guy act is bill playing....When the public notices that his son is missing....Dont you think that will hurt his public appeal?

I for one cant wait for Barb's reaction to this. Could this be what cracks the first marriage? personaly I think Bill should take a step back and look at the one who kissed. it was Margene!! And yet Ben is the only one thrown out? Keep in mind -- he's got 3 kids with Margene - can't exactly throw her out. Ben's 18 - old enough to be out on his own, but probably not quite ready for it, as most 18 year olds aren't.

Remember, Bill doesn't see women as being responsible for their own actions. They're not priesthood holders and not the equals of men. So of course, Ben, the man in the situation, is going to be held responsible, even though Margene is slightly older and supposed to be the authority.

Ben isn't able to satisfy Bill's need for sex and his mysterious need for more and more babies to populate his celestial kingdom.
Ben's out. And it is a shame, because he loves his father. He believes his father gets revealations from God, for goodness sakes! That alone should make him valuable to Bill.
Bill has well defined use for Margene.
Unfortunately, Bill still has a well defined use for Barb too, and the sugar is going to hit the fan over this.

Take a look at the events that led down to all this mess. Bill was in D.C. at a time that Margene needed him to be home with her. She was facing a showdown with JJ and Ben intervened doing the job that Bill should have done. It reminds me of something Bill told Ben in the first season when he went to attend the funeral “Ben you are in charge now take care of your moms” Ben was acting in an appropriate manner and Margene was grateful for what he had done. However, Margene always seems to act on her emotions before thinking and that happened again when Ben showed up at her place of work to support her. Without thinking, she kissed him on the lips. Afterwards, after realizing what had just happened, she covered the mouth with her hand bowing her head in shame. Ben was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Now Bill has to deal with this. Put yourself in his place before you judge him. He is married and sealed to three women which according to his beliefs they will all be with him in the celestial kingdom. He has just discovered that his Eldest son and youngest wife seem to have feelings for each other. It was Ben that said he needed to leave for a while and Bill just agreed. He needs some time to sort out all this. Bills actions should not be compared to the compound where they run off the young boys so that the older men can have all the women. Those women have not been sealed to anyone yet. The men in this situation are selfishly eliminating the competition by running off the young boys.

However, when Ben said that he thought he should leave for a while Bill didn't just agree...He said "I was thinking the same thing." He was going up to Ben's room that night to tell him to leave. You have a great point about the compound ladies not being sealed yet and the older men feeling threatened. I still feel Bill, especially since he was run off as a kid, should have handled the situation differently. All running Ben off is going to do is make Margie want him more. It was like telling Sarah not to go with Scott...What did she do? She married him. Bill of all people should understand developing feelings for someone outside of your marriage. Every marriage goes through it at one point or another. Some act on those feelings and some never do. It was just a peck. No tongues, no sex, nothing like that. It could have been so much worse. If I were Bill I would have understood why Ben is attracted to Margie, I mean she is practically the same age and really cute too...As far as Margie goes...Bill needs to not just listen...But to hear what she was saying to him. She needed him and he wasn't there...Ben was. Bill needs to spend more time focusing on his wives and family instead of his latest whims. ;D JMO, respectfully, of course.

[quote I still feel Bill, especially since he was run off as a kid, should have handled the situation differently. JMO, respectfully, of course. I will agree that Bill could have handled it differently but Bill I believe reacted to his emotions at the time. Let me use another example. A man who is divorced marries another woman half his age. He discovers down the road that his wife and teenage son may have feelings for each other. It is true that his wife is his son’s stepmother but on the other hand she is the mans wife. How would you expect the husband to react to this relation between the son and the stepmother. Is it possible he might just kick his son out of the house; and because Bill asked Ben to leave, people think Bill is treating his son like his father treated him.

I agree you make a point. Bill's feeling are I suppose what is really up for debate -and we all interpret his motivations differently because of that. I personally think Bill's motivation was not just jealousy, or feeling betrayed but his unwilingness to deal with anything that may cause him to re- evaluate himself / his own actions. IOW's it was easier to just write Ben off then deal with the real issue. I think he later saw the fault in that.
