When Teeny was talking to Sara on the phone, Teeny said to her something of the tune of, "Sara, I'm so sorry you weren't able to get married in the temple." This struck me as odd and has been resonating with me ever since. It is my understanding that Barb and Bill were the only two who were actually sealed in a Temple. Bill and Nikki were married on Juniper Creek and sealed by Roman. I don't know how Bill and Margene were married, but it couldn't have been at Juniper Creek since Lois first met Margene at Wayne's birthday party. I would assume it was a back yard ceremony just like Anna's.
It made me start thinking about Teeny's camp that she was at. What are the chances that it was a camp run by LDS? Is it possible that she is going to be more LDS than FLDS? LDS really stresses the marrying in the temple. FLDS, as shown on Big Love doesn't require a Temple for any of those sealings.
What are your thoughts?

Teeny has always been kinda...Evangelistic? Not sure if that is a complete accurate description...But she does seem to feel the need to spread the word.
You are right though...Her family is more FLDS than LDS...Not sure where the sudden LDS stuff is coming from unless she has been spending more time with Grandma on mom's side.
Perhaps it is something her grandma had been saying that had planted a seed in her mind.. "Oh my gosh...Sarah got married and it wasn't even a temple wedding...Oh dear!" Kinda thing. I got the impression Teenie was parroting someone else.

Yes Teenie is the Evangelic one of out of the group. Remember last year when she was "preaching" to the preacher?
I thought Barb made a comment last season, after the porn thing, that Teenie was going to go spend time with Barb's family. I'm sure that's where a lot of the more mainstream LDS stuff is coming from. She's the age where she really would be saying/doing things to gain approval and some attention. I'm sure Grandma is happy with that.

rissmeek, I too thought something was said about her spending some time with barb's mom. So it's my guess you guys are right on in saying it is stemming from her grandmother.

I remember reading in an interview that a point of emphasis this season was Teeny's differences of opinion with her family's religious beliefs. I think everything I've read here jibes with that.

Perhaps Teeny should have been named Evangeline... I also saw the comment as coming from lots of time with LDS family/friends.
On another note, though, I think Barb made a comment about eternity and Sarah not being there. I'm confused. Aren't children automatically sealed to parents when they are born? If Sarah isn't sealed to Scott, doesn't that just mean that Scott won't be there in eternity? Which Barb might prefer anyway? Or if an adult child marries outside the faith, does this automatically annul their eternal sealing? So many questions....

Ladykc, I think her leaving the faith is what unsealed her. I could be mistaken, though.

I thought it was somewhat unrealistic that Barb wouldn't have corrected Teeny on her comment. Teeny's comment, as southernsong pointed out, criticizes his father's marriage to two of his wives, which are two of Teeny's moms. It seemed disrespectful, and I can't imagine a parent allowing that to just pass by. I realize she's only 11 or 12, but you can still explain to them why that's not a nice thing to say, and if that's not a belief held by her parents' current religion, you'd think they'd explain that to her.
I think it would be helpful if the writers explained how and from where Teeny is getting some of these ideas from. I know it was speculated that it's from the grandmother after the porn incident, but she's been away at camp, where she'd probably have limited contact with her grandmother. Was it an LDS camp? Something like that would be good to know, just to get an idea of what's up with Teeny now.

I've wondered how the younger children have been "trained" not to reveal their home life to their friends, classmates, teachers, etc. Teeny seems like the typical Mormon kid to me (I grew up surrounded by them), a bit preachy and sanctimonious. She's got to be conflicted by what she knows about "The Church" and what's going on with her own family.

Welcome libertarian!!!
That is a great point... How do they keep all the kids trained to lie this way about their lifestyle. I have a 7 year old son and he squeals about anything and everything lol!

And kids shouldn't have to lie. Obviously, the ones who were born into the "expanded" family consider it normal, so surely they would be inclined to reveal they have three mommies and one daddy -- and that their daddy is well-known local businessman Bill Hendrickson. The issue of the children is the one where I have the most trouble suspending disbelief, I guess.

I didn't think Nikki would let them go to the Catholic school. Wasn't she worried they might try to make them Catholic?

Yeah, I remember that episode but don't really recall how it was resolved except that Wayne did take part in a pageant that both Nikki and Bill attended and that she made an effort to blend in stylewise with the other mothers. I don't think that storyline advanced much beyond that aspect of it -- we probably don't actually know where they go to school, actually. But wherever it is, there's still got to be a significant cover-up involved.
