Anyone want to explain that one? That went right over my head but I assume it meant something. (everything means something, right?)

I thought it was just sort of a lighthearted moment between a grandma and her grandson, which was meant to contrast with whatever terrible thing was going to happen later to that crew later in the show. And I was right, something terrible did happen!

I was thinking that Lois was replacing her teen Bill with Ben and just feeling good about it. It was very funny and it was nice to see Lois happy for a moment.

I loved it! I've always liked the actress playing Lois. It does seem that she's taking some great pleasure out of giving Ben the safe harbor she couldn't give Bill at that juncture. A chance to right a wrong in her life. Who wouldn't dance about that? She's an odd bird anyway; the funny thing is Ben not thinking she was off her nut!

What was interesting to me, was the way Frank was looking at Lois during this scene... It was as if he had some revelation or some new found affection for Lois as a wife and mother. He seemed genuinely impressed and in love with her.

I just rewatched the episode and Lois sings "I'm cutting out the middle man and dancing with jumbo shrimp"...
So I think it is safe to say that the greens are pissed she cut them out as the middle men.

Yeah I think the point was that Frank was starting to see her as a love interest again and Jodeen was (understandably) like "omg. this family is so effed up."
I am SO impressed with Jodeen's ability to hold her tongue, btw! I mean, that woman is incredible!

i thought the scene was adorable. Benny needs time away from his family and i think Lois needed Benny around to help her 'make up' for letting bill and joey be cast out (what was the term?)
in the car after lois hung up with bill did you see Frank's concern for her? it's like he took her words about her not having any control about bills situation as a kid to heart and realized that he hurt HER in the process
dunno, i never liked frank from seeing him in the first season but he seems to be coming around.
and who would eat shrimp cocktail in mexico in the sunshine/heat??? who knows if those things were on ice before they got them - do they want to die??? lol

He seemed genuinely impressed and in love with her. That was my thought, exactly. I think that Frank is starting to fall in love with Lois again. It was a cute scene. I also think it was one of those moments where Ben was reveling in feeling like a spoiled grandchild. All kids need those types of moments. Mom and Dad don't understand, but Grandma and Grandpa do. I think that Ben, Sarah, and all of those kids have been forced to grow up too fast based on their polygamous upbringing. There is always a child to babysit, etc. This was just a silly moment for Ben to feel like "an only child". And, it's obvious he adores his grandma.

Yes Ben definitely is enjoying the only child feeling, and he should he deserves it! It was like he was a little boy again.
And yes, he adores his grandma...But so do I lol! I just love Lois!

I agree about the shrimp in the hot sun. During that whole scene the only thing I could think about was they would cut to a new scene soon and Benny would be so sick in a hospital about to die from food poisoning and Lois would have to tell Bill where they were.

I think Frank knew what he was talking about when he told Jodean to "get me some more napkins in case I get the trots!" He is SO gross, but he was spot on with that remark! LOL

Hi all,
I forgot to mention this in the other thread about this shrimp thing. I think there's a little more to it. It seems that crab legs are preferred by Mormons over shrimp. Do you remember when Barb was preparing for the opening of the casino. Well, she got all bent out of shape at the mention of shrimp and mentioned that Mormon's don't eat shrimp, they like crab legs. Also, Bill brought crab legs for a party for Don when Don was going to take another wife (which never happened about two seasons ago). This seems to be regular item for Mormons at happy occasions.
Also, Frank told Benny in that scene to tell his father that he was "tasting the world" meaning he was opening up to new things.
I think the shrimp and the dance were a way of stepping out of the norm and being a little decadent.
