I posted this over on the "free at last" episode board but thought i'd stick it up here for a few to make sure everyone who was interested found it Link to download mp3 version: spin.com/audio/download/26843/home_hi.mp3To listen / send to your cell phone: beemp3.com/download.php?file=5362468&song=HomeLyrics: "Home"
Home Is this my home Been starting over Bathe in the water
Time Time after time I'm feeling so sorry I run out of words to say Relieved I'm so relieved The table are turning Don't sacrifice this feeling
Goals There are no goals There is no order Paid for in laughter
Home Is this my home Been starting over Bathe in the water

The music to the intro is o.k. but what is with the crazy imagery? I don't know whether I'm watching them falling into an Alice In Wonderland world or some like some weird performance art. They just all look so bizarre! I'm sorry, maybe it's supposed to be cool but it's just highly annoying to me to the point of even being disturbing. I liked the other intro WAAAAAY better. I hope they don't use this one again.

The new intro is supposed to represent outer darkness.

anyone else notice that at the very end bill is reaching out to ONE wife with ONE wedding band on? whereas the original had the three bands and them all holding hands.
think that's a spoiler for where the season may end?

I didn't notice the wedding band, but I did notice that only one hand is reaching for him. I think it's Barb and the other wives are drifting off on their own. Both Nikki and Margene seem to be comfortable as they finally drift off.
I hated this beginning too, but now I'm getting use to it and actually like the song. Thanks so much for posting the lyrics because I was wondering what they were saying. I also thought it was "dead in the water". And isn't it sang when Nikki looks like she's dead?

hm, if barb is the one that stays... i can see margie being okay on her own - she's strong enough and has the jewelry thing (if it isn't ruined by bill wanting them to 'come out')
but what about nicki? i dont think she's strong enough to be on her own... and ray isn't in the picture... i can't imagine her going back to the compound either even if it were to be with adaleen or wanda (like if she broke down and needed support)...
so like, it seems to me that out of the three, nicki is the one that needs bill the most right now. anyone else see that? just curious

I think the only wife that Bill will have is Nikki, and he will become the phophet. That is his calling. THat is who he is. And ppl know it. What if the house he wants to buy he does, and becomes a phophet there, and starts a new compound, minus, Barb, Margene, Benny, Sara. I dont think that Margene and Barb are going to stay with Bill

not that i think parents should stay together simply for the sake of their kids, but barb and bills kids are old enough now that she could make a break from him with less emotional casualty. I mean, ben and sarah are old enough to completely understand, and we know teenie doesn't like living in a poly family (tho probably wants bill to divorce the others, not her mom)
margie's kids are young enough... and she's certainly strong enough to be able to parent them by herself if she had to
whereas nicki, being right in the middle... her sons always seem the ones getting the true shaft too cause they obviously love their dad but can't be his kids in public (i remember a scene with them trying to run to him outsid ehome plus and getting taken back and hushed) and nicki really is the only one that truly understands bill when it comes to the principle/faith even if she doesn't like the way he is living it. the scene in episode 40 with them on the couch and her asking him to sit another 30 minutes with her was so touching and it really made me feel like thsoe two have something that neither of the other pairings have. i dont know if ive seen bill spend 'his nights' with either of the other women just sitting or not talking and seeming so comfortable... but again i haven't seen most of 3 or season 2
now i wonder if we can analyze who's hand that is reaching for bills by looking at stills of all the actresses' hands LOL
oh, and i want to mention that what i said above about divorce is just an opinion based on seeing these characters... obviously i dont speak for anyone in real life or anyones situations because everyone is different!

I think you are right on! Very well said. I also suspect Margie goes first. She isn't feeling this whole coming out of the closet thing and polygamy will ruin her business, her image and she could lose her kids. Seriously! Nikki could at least flee to the compound...Margie would never want to live there and even if she did, she couldn't ever cut it there.

I absolutely HATED the new intro initially... but as the season has gone one i think it is much more fitting to where the charcters are now.
Not a big fan of the song still though, but ppl had said they couldnt find it for download etc on the ep1 board so i posted it when i found it.

I don't mind the new intro, I think we needed a change. I don't know if it is the song of what but the intro seems so long.
By the time they go through all the recap scenes, advertisements and then the intro we only get like a 35-40 minute show it seems lol!

There is a Mormon Blogger that write about Big Love. This blogger gives their take on all of the episodes. I wish I could find the site where this person writes because it is so interesting! This person writes about things I would have never noticed because I do not know much about the Mormon religion. If anyone finds this site, please let me know! I will keep looking for it too and will let everyone know if I find it.
Anyway, this person wrote that the new beginning showed Bill and the wives being in the outer darkness. The original beginning showed Bill and the wives living on earth and facing the pressures of earth then dying where Bill pulled them through the eternal white veil and then they are living in eternity together. This writer wrote that the writers of Big Love have to be confident of what they have in store for the viewers to change the opening. The new opening is Bill and the wives in the outer darkness and no one knows what will happen. In the original opening they all ended up together because Bill pulled all of the wives through the white eternal veil.
After reading what this blogger of Big Love wrote, I liked the new opening. I needed to know what it meant for the family to be in outer darkness. I also liked reading that the writers must be confident for what is coming to have the audacity to change the opening.

i also like the opening because it's very soothing musically and the vocals just flow so nicely
i have the mp3 on itunes and i listen to it a lot now just to hear/feel it
i never realized that the original meant that much visually. I understood the basics but not being of mormon faith had no idea about outer darkness, or the white eternal veil etc etc. the writers sure are doing their research, which is nice, but at the same time wasted on who knows how many!

I like the new intro a lot. Like the song and the imagery. Liked the old one as well, but this one is fitting.
